The Book that Changed Me

Description
Ten years ago, the world underwent a profound transformation. Humanity found itself bestowed with an extraordinary "gift" - the ability to shatter the once-confining limits of human potential. It became the fervent desire of every individual to lay claim to this extraordinary power. Although this newfound ability doesn't bestow the gift of magic upon its wielders, it endows them with unimaginable strength, enabling them to level buildings with a single punch. Regrettably, this gift is far from common; a mere one in fifty people can count themselves among the fortunate possessors. Even among this select few, their newfound abilities typically stretch only 1.1 to 2 times beyond the norm. And even if one boasts a favorable limit, it serves merely as an end point. True power demands unyielding dedication and relentless training.
But that's not all; let's not forget about skills. These abilities are a rare commodity, enhancing statistics, unleashing specific attacks, and much more. Only one in a thousand gifted individuals is blessed with such skills, and a even a more minuscule fraction claim multiple. Destiny seems to follow a predetermined path, with combat-oriented skills giving rise to a surge in criminal activities. Only a select few police officers boast growth limits above the average, while an enigmatic "alliance" actively recruits promising talents. For some, the weight of this reality proves too overwhelming, driving them to contemplate the unthinkable – suicide.
Yet, for Oren Hashigana, a broke, weak, and diminutive high school senior, life undergoes a seismic shift thanks to a fateful act of benevolence from an unknown force. The serendipitous discovery of a mysterious book grants him a power previously inconceivable – an infinite growth limit, surpassing all others in the world. Gradually, he begins accumulating strength and acquiring skills, embarking on a mission to dismantle the criminal empire that lurks in the shadows, threatening to corrupt the very fabric of reality.

The characters, the plot, everything! I especially love the fighting moments, those get me riled up! And those sad moment’s, i literally sob whenever something sad happened! I totally recommend it to everyone! Hell, if i find it good, then everyone will!
You can say that this book really changed me! - soup_noodlesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Book That Changed Me is a great book. It has a great storyline, compelling characters, and stunning artwork that really amazed me. I found immense enjoyment in the chapters I've read so far. My favorite part is when Oren completely outshines Jack. Without hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to others. The overall narrative is simply outstanding, and I've developed a deep appreciation for the music, art, and other elements interwoven throughout its pages. MFor's dedication to his audience is evident, and I deeply respect the effort he's poured into crafting this great book. I'm pretty sure he worked tirelessly on this masterpiece, and I can't wait to read his other works. Oren is probably my favorite character, but it also might be Aroha. Expressing my thoughts on this incredible book is hard since it's my first time writing a review, and finding the right words is also hard. But I'm trying to write a good review so this book can get famous one day. I believe it has the potential to resonate with readers worldwide, captivating their hearts and minds with its brilliance. From the intricate plot twists to the vivid imagery, every aspect of this book draws you in, leaving you yearning for more. It's a journey that stays with you long after you've turned the final page. I don't think my brain can take this much writing and this many fancy words so this review is done. 😁👍

characters (not that weak but side characters kinda mid, main are good tho) - BasselRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very good use of words and grammar and very deep meaning that is not easily grasped and good story telling with good style would recommend this is mainly targeted to a higher age group since the fiction contains big words that a younger age group might not understand but excellent work.
- P.T.L.O.GRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5First of all I'm on chapter 11 and the book has been getting better and better, from Oren losing his weakling skill to him killing THE DEPUTY. The way the writer visualises the fight scenes using intense figurative language makes me feel extremely engaged and at some points even worried for Oren (Except in the fight against Jack, that was a massacre). Furthermore, I love how the reader paces the story and how in each chapter it's like MOM- I mean Aroha and Oren are getting closer and closer. I love how the writer paces and allows us to guess what will happen next because of the constant foreshadowing. For example in his fight against the Deputy, Oren was finding it hard at first to fight him because of his armour skill. In this fight Oren had to think instead of just do, if he still knew how to box he would've done that way earlier. Then later when he's in the hospital healing up he needs to learn a martial art. I like how Oren is overpowered but not entirely as he needs to fight to get stronger. Finally, I like how the writer uses accurate dialogue such as f*** to really show how they are just average teenagers doing all of this stuff. It really show that even if we are young, we can accomplish many things. "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young". Finally, the only criticism I could think of, character development. Oren does move from a weakling to a stronger person however, there are not that many characters that change from good to evil or maybe even evil to good. We all know Oren is a menace but it would have been nice if he were able to forgive and then the enemy would help them progress or something like that. (I am only on chapter 11 so I don't know anything beyond this chapter)All in all I love this book and am looking forward to view the next chapter.
- JustKarterRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5its great ima stay here for a long while if you keep cooking ima keep reading still wish the jack fight was longer but ik you will make the true big bad have a great fight and make oren not win all fights like your average mc im sure bro will catch sum hands from time to time but overall i fr love the story im not much of a reader as i told you but im fr locked in
- AsmodeicRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story is arguably one of the better stories I've in my time here with a finesse to the writing style and grammar that make the story almost a vivid image in your mind, an outstanding array of characters and unique skills unlike most other stories. The main character being a person who has also grown from a wet rag of a person to a badass MC. From the beginning of TBTCM the MC at the start of his journey was a laughingstock and punching bag. However, he then soon turns into a menace ready to kick ass in this tournament. This story has a unique and varying selection of adventures that the MC goes on, and, I cannot wait to see where they lead. Now this story does have some faults with most of them being minor. Originality, with the book the MC gets a system which is not something you haven't seen. Character building, for the MC he has some basic character building with his resolve getting stronger along with his stats. However, this story also has not gotten too in depth on other characters with flashbacks or as to a reason as to why they do or act in certain ways, the motivation for their goals, is it soley for power or is it to protect something, gain something through power.
- jesus12345Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5ill give it a 8.5/10 the story really drags me in because of its really detailed and conplex sentenses im not a really good reader my self but this was pretty entertaining over all ill read the next chapter when it comes out its really good and fun to read very good wrighter
- Gypsy_SoulRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So, overall I really like the story! The concept for the world and plot overall plot were really well done. The progression felt well paced, even after time skip segments. It's 100% worth a read!
The couple of negative things I will say (hopefully you'll take them as constructive input not anything necessarily negative!) are having to do with some of the writing, not necessarily the storytelling. The fight scenes get a little repetitive due to the lack of variety. The amount of times Oren punches someone in the liver or gets punched in the liver is a little excessive. The character development for his girlfriend (I'm not attempting to spell her name from memory) is disappointing, especially with everything she went through before his crusade. Then the ending
the book supposedly vanished after the gift was extinguished and then his son finds it, like he packed it away?
Short version, I loved the story but some things could have made it one of my favorites.
