The Befuddlement of Emily

I sat in my bubble, silently observing the world go by around me. The emotionless people lumbered by, completely unaware of my presence. Whenever I needed a break from my own reality, I would come here. I didn’t know where this world was or even what timeline it was on. It seemed like Earth, but the people here had no colour and never smiled.
