I love The cultivation system and how it’s not so rigid when it comes to power. the different types of cultivation and their interaction with each other really shows creativity.
The way the main character uses her illusions and music and the Reliance on enlightenment for Power ups is really nice why to show character, growth, and strength growth at the same time.
    very enjoyable

A truly beautiful story and by far my favorite on this site. The theme and motif of death is so transcendentallly done. And it's just a wonderful piece about a girls struggle to understand death. Simple and profound, please give this story a try.  Legit evokes feelings of grief in me when I caught up to the story, so happy it's being picked up again.

Prince Corwin is back, and we are richer for it. Full disclosure, I know Corwin personally (yes, named after the Amber series by Roger Zelazny). I have followed him for years and know perfectly well why he has waited a bit to post this story at last. He has wanted to give us something he is proud of and worth waiting for; he has succeeded. He is a young man of extraordinary talent, and frankly, is as beautiful and elegant a person as this novel. From a gifted amateur whose tales have always been fun and creative, he has grown into a master of language and style, as this post demonstrates. His intent was to write something that not only is adventurous and a blast to read, but with a fluidity like the music he incorporates so skillfully. I have been privileged to read some chapters ahead; I assure you you will be swept up in the flowing river of Prince Corwin’s imagination, and not be disappointed for a moment. He blesses us with his unique and organic sense of humor, and a determination to have his stories be unpredictable yet grounded, and character driven without skimping on action and intrigue. Read on, oh fortunate lovers of storytelling, you have found a young genius and will forever be grateful as you hear Lin’s flute music guiding you through a delicious landscape that reminds us all why we love to read.

The story follows Lin Jia, a young noble girl forced to enter a sect by her family to avoid a dangerous political scenario.
It revolves around her growth as a cultivator, as a person and as a child, in a story crafted beautifully. It is obvious the author has put a ton of effort into the story, I personally enjoyed binging through it immensely!
If I were to define it, I would say that The Jade Beauty is a serious classical cultivation novel, featuring very real, fleshed-out characters.
There are tons of cultivation stories out there, most of them using comedy elements to mask the lack of planning and skill that is needed to write truly good cultivation. The Jade Beauty has what many lack: it really delivers, with clear progression simultaneously at the plot, character and setting levels. To me, it is a near-textbook example of how to design a story to be enjoyable amd feel purposeful.
Style: The author has clear experience (or they have read proper content and have a very competent grasp of Emglish); the prose flows very well and actively comtributes to immerse the reader into the story. They clearly know how to thrust you into the action, and when to deliver introspection or emotion. If I were to point something out, it is that from time to time, Lin Jia lacks moments to process her emotions. Emotional development is very well done, but given the premise (music and death as a means to cultivatr understanding and power), some parts of her “spiritual progress” would be even better with a bit more of time for her to express herself. It is already great, though.
Grammar: Perfect, nothing to add, as it should be! I believe I have seen maybe 1 or 2 typos in the entire 65 chapters, very impressive. Once there was a repeated word somewhere. As I said, great.
Story: It is very well thought-out, the author reflected on how they started this project as a way to channel their current life hardships, and that they might not have been too inspired. Having read the story, I must

It only just started but I like it.
I like the main character. You can feel she is smart, kind and mature for her age. But she's still twelve so she cries when it's hard and she feels ashamed for it. It's all too relatable and I love it ! Also I like her relation with her father.
In the end, I think she's cute I hope nothing too bad happens to her. I'm eager to see her character evolve.

As at the time of this review, I've read up to the most recent Chapter 29. I will endeavour to avoid spoilers in this review.
I have really enjoyed the story so far, with the main character Jia Lin forming bonds with other people and making determined decisions despite her young age. The story strikes a good balance between positive interactions between the cast and more heavy topics such as death, which is a theme that is explored from multiple perspectives.
In terms of the writing apart from the occassional misuse of a homophone, it is clear, well formatted and strikes a very readable balance between description, dialogue and action. It's been very enjoyable to read because it never feels like the story is getting bogged down at any point, the author spends enough time to flesh out characters while keeping the plot well paced. The story is more focussed on people and events rather than cultivation mechanics, which are there as part of the background of the world but ultimately serves the story.
There is a spirit of a classic adventure story in The Beautiful Jade and I recommend it as a good read for anyone who likes a story with a protagonist that follows her conscience and has friends rather than taking the "lone wolf" path.

I really like the main character, she's mature for her age but not so mature that it feels out of place and I can see clear charecter growth with the progression of the story(The side charecters are also cool especially Ming Lai). The technique our mc cultivates is also really cool, and one of the more interesting/unique ones I've seen. Hope the author finishes this story.

A reasonably fast paced start to a xianxia story. The lead character is thoughtful and naive, and not inclined to push everyone down into the dust. It feels more like a slice of life story rather than a typical xianxia story.
Some of the characters need more filling out, as their backstories are absent and their motivations unclear, but its still early days. There haven't been any info dumps, as world buiding comes naturally over time. On the whole, it is enjoyable with few grammar and spelling mistakes.

I can only speak to the first few chapters, but they feel a bit rushed. Too much is told instead of shown, and a fair bit is not even told at all. We don't get too see the inciting incidents that lead to the main character becoming a cultivator / joining the sect. Side characters are mentioned and suddenly become close to the MC for no real reason, or else drop out of the story again just as quickly. And the challenges faced are each little more than "this is the challenge. She is worried and it is hard, but then she beats it. Now there is a character moment."
Again, I only read the first few chapters, and despite my critique I certainly wouldn't say the story is bad even from what I've seen. I only mention this in hopes that the feedback helps the author improve.

Started off great but everything between chapters 19 and 22 feels significantly worse than what came before it to an almost nonsensical degree. In particular everything revolving around the MCs actions with regards to the attack seems ridiculous and forced with no explanation.
I'll keep trying to see if it recovers but this was a very disappointing start of an arc.
