Description

[Currently in indefinite hiatus]Alice de Ravendall, the daughter of a count, starts experiencing vivid dreams that hint at a former life as a physics major in college. In a world where scientific knowledge is closely tied to magical abilities, how will Alice fare?

———

This is a 'science meets magic' type of story where the science aspect will eventually get wilder and more complex.Expect two chapters per month.

Disclaimer: I am neither a physicist nor a biologist, so you might want to take everything with a grain of salt. There may be errors or even deliberate omissions to serve the plot, and I might take some liberties now and then.It is best to consider that the magic system merely draws inspiration from science, like most works of science fiction.

Lastly, some chapters contain illustrations generated and edited with the help of AI, most notably SD. I'd like to think they incrementally get better over time.

This is the usual magic meets science study fest where the mc uses their huge brain to explore the depths of magic. Then adventure and fun.
That is until a sudden phase shift occurs and the mc causes mass extinction.... The mc becomes suicidal.... Wow. I love it!!!~~~ :3

Quite a fun read, all things considered.  I wouldn't call the story special, perse, but that doesn't stop it from being fairly well executed.  The main character is extremely overpowered - to a degree I don't think that the protagonist has even fully realized - but that power doesn't feel like a cheat so much as the natural result of her reincarnation.  Furthermore, her struggles with her identity after absorbing the memories of her past life are decently well executed.
Which is not to say it is flawless.  In terms of the style of writing, while admitting that this is a subjective gripe, I feel that a lot could be gained from seeing differing perspectives aside from the main character.  The first twenty chapters are spent with her learning the technicals of her power and relatively little about her actual world.  Given her posistion - currently heir presumptive of her father's county, with her brother likely to become heir apparant at the age of majority and her then being part of a political marriage - the lack of politics and etiquette is worth noting, as is her family's lack of concern about it.
This ties in to the lack of other perspectives because right now it is hard to tell how abnormal the main character is, because we don't know what normal is.  We don't even know enough about society - unless I missed something, always a possibility - to say how her behavior compares to other noble families, or how that compares to the peasentry or how the groups relate to each other.
So far, almost the entirety of the novel has taken place at one estate and almost all of that time was spent with her magic tutor.  The world desperately needs to be flushed out.
Having said all of that, this is an incredibly enjoyable read.  I want to see the world expanded because I enjoy spending time in it, and want to continue to do so.

Alice finds herself in a peculiar situation. She's been dreaming. But the strange thing is, these dreams aren't the type that fade. No, they're prominent in mind, and it scares her. How will she take advantage of what she remembers from them?
Knowledge is power... There is always more to learn.

Interesting story with bizarre magic from an Isekaied genius scientist girl. She doesn’t really know what to do with her life but becomes an adventurer, makes some friends, some potions, etc.  Pretty light hearted but interesting.  At least for 40 chapters where the tone radically changed and it becomes pretty bleak and depressing

Then she somehow uses her scientific magic to accidentally kill a few hundred thousand people and the whole story becomes bleak and apocalyptic and kind of meandering. Just don’t really think the story was thought through.

With accurate scientific desriptions it was pretty unique compared to most of smiliar novels. MC is also well portrayed with what she thinks and how she feels about things, it makes much more realistic character. Style of writing is good too, even when there are theoreitcal specifications, they're short and not boring, only giving a flavour to the whole. There are always enough descriptions to have good understanding of situation, I enjoyed this style. So at the start I liked novel to a great extent, because it's a good one, just in last few chapters there were some plot points I haven't enjoyed as much. Some spoilers bellow, so you can stop reading if you want.
Firstly MC decides that her goal is to become a hero, who travels a world and helps other with her magic. Personally I'm no huge fan of hero protagonists, much prefer anti-hero or villain, but I can enjoy their stories too if novel's good. But here we have MC with OP magic, who for 20 chapters experiments with it with great enthusiasm. I would love if her goal would be finding more about magic, creating new spells with her power or even better to be the strongest she can be. The whole 'hero' thing came out of nowhere because she remembered some comics from past life, not having anything to do with her personality till now. The second (worse one by far) is how she acknowledges that in two years when she will turn 17 and her brother will become the heir of family, she will have arranged marriage to gain power for her family. That's the reason she wants to become adventure for two years, before she'll loose her freedom (her exact words). F*cking annoying it is, I tell ya. Even the finest example of "good and kind girl protagonist" in this moment would talk about how she wants to do what makes her happy or wants to marry out of love. Most of reincarnated protagnosists would just say "F*ck you, you're sexist and dumb, forget about it or I'm cutting ties with family, I'm strong enough to do what I want without car

The story handles well, its a interesting start that handles the meshing of a isekai'ed consciousness well and is all about progressing the MC's magic. Which is a tried and true story and can work really well. The grammar has no errors that detracted from the writing and the style works well for the story its writing. The only thing I would change style wise is some conversations can be hard to follow due to block formatting.
However: The part that does not mesh with me personally
    spoilers 44 onward
Lady Isabella, gets away with a, assaulting the mc with magic at a party, b, gets the mc in trouble, for defending herself from said magic, and c, its all around a rather unpleasant individual. Which at the time I was interested in as a threat, mana controlling noble with issues with the main character is a interesting villain idea. especially when against a magically powerful mc.
Perhaps we will see them fight, however, the part that bothers me personally, is in chapter 48, cataclysm. A bandit attack happens as the MC is leaving a party. The twist? The MC in a last act of desperation, creates either a black hole, or a area of false vacuum. Which, is most situations is the end of the story. The MC, is however, capable of undoing it. And causes a decent chunk of the main cast, the kingdom, and most characters we have met so far, to die via the magic equivalent to radiation.
Post this point, the story is about elves now, and the mc's interactions with them. Oh, and also, somehow (likley via mana control however its not started so far) Isabella, survived and is accusing the mc of directly attacking the royal family...... Which..... Certainly is a accusation to make? considering the you know, genocide. Its a risk to have drastic changes in characters in a story, I am glad the author feels confidant to make said changes, however I am simply no longer engaged with the story due to both the tonal shift and the lack of care about literally any of the characters besides maybe the

The story is fine.  First 50 chapters are okay, basically the mc growing up as a minor noble and awakening her magic, meeting some friends with other adventures and nobles etc and then it changed.
    Spoilers ahead.
After going to a noble ball she's attacked by bandits and basically flubs a killing spell and instantly kills everyone Ave everything in like 100km. This includes her entire family, the entire capital city and most of the population in the country.   With a death toll in the 500k-1 million range the story  pivots and goes grimdark. With her and some elvish survivors going on a journey somewhere.
Not a huge fan of grimdark so not loving this change.  I will give it a bit of time, and some chapters to see if it goes anywhere interesting but so far I'm not seeing anything to justify the major change in tone.

The book is largely fine. I like it, though I'm wondering, if I should continue this title, because it seems it will be one of those which will be increasingly frustrating for me to read. Since while the genre features most elements of my perfect cup of coffee for a daily read, it takes the wind out of them.
Grammar and orthography are fine. The authors written universe is easy to follow and enjoy. The characters might still need to develop a little bit to not seem  generic, though I think I have seen enough individualsm to overlook it. The story is also following the general direction of a protag getring Reincarnated as a young one, with tutors etc. I am not able to complain much, but personally I need less smooth sailing. Don't get me wrong there are set backs in this story, but they get solved as easily as a math problem in the elementary school. The story would be a great iyashikei, if it would focus more on Slice of Life elements and maybe has a bit less physical teching elements in it so also a smaller audience can enjoy it, but since it focusses on magic and power related stuff it can't be wholy described as such.
With story's as this one I always have trouble to understand what the authors goals are. Do they want us to enjoy life, even the progressive elements, which are normally those which are stressing you out? Or do they want to feature a "normal life", which isn't normal at all and somehow get us to enjoy the thwarted perception of the book? Later just makes me feel punching a wall with my head.
I just don´t understand such storys. *sigh*
While I recommend this story for everyone who has not the same issues I do recommend at least to try to get a feel for it within the first chapters, I wouldn't recommend it to a truly action seeking audience; espacially those who don't like to have the MC being basically a wandering Anhiliation machine which enjoys a happy life.
