Erik Blake always showed great potential. As a child, his mana core awakened after a traumatic kidnapping, a gift that promised a future in magic. His father, an ex-adventurer, vowed to teach him everything he knew, but war tore him away before that promise could be fulfilled.

When news of his father’s death reached him, Erik’s world fell apart. His mother, paralyzed by grief, withdrew into herself, leaving Erik to care for his two younger siblings. He took up work in a tavern to keep his family fed, but as times grew tougher, Erik found himself slipping into a world of crime to survive.

Forced into a gang, Erik quickly realized this life wasn’t for him. With no way out, the only path left was the one his father had promised—magic.

The story's emotional weight draws you in, its characters feeling authentic and deep. Erik is set up for major development, as he's forced to mature faster than expected. With a solid start and much promise, it has an excellent potential for a good story.

Overall, it's an interesting start. I like the main conflict being a realistic one of money troubles instead of focusing on something cliche like revenge or other things. The siblings actually have personalities instead of being forgotten, which I like. The grammar is good and doesnt have any problems, which is also nice. I hope it continues to get better and better.

It's a great story, and there are barely any grammar mistakes. The first chapter made sure that the reader was hooked and wanting to read more. There are no plot holes that I have found either; the plotline is solid and strong.
The only thing I don't really like is how there seems to be a bit too much... emotion? However, I understand that this is just the style that you write in, so you do not really have to do anything.
Overall, brilliant writing. Keep going!
