The Archives of Nylas is an experimental, collaborative, world-building adventure primarily set in a sprawling, open-world city. It's a mix of choose-your-own-adventure, open-world games like Skyrim and Genshin Impact, and tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons. I am telling the story of YOU, the reader, as you wander the land, exploring and adventuring, and come across your next stop.

This is a SLOW BURNER.

It does not contain action and conflict in every chapter, but instead builds at a more organic, steady pace, dictated by the original reader's choices in each vote.

It is structured like a TTRPG or video game where a patient player takes time to explore their surroundings, meet the initial characters, visit the shops and buildings, and engage with what's nearby. They don't rush to fight the first 'boss' directly, or immediately start stealing items and killing NPCs. Instead, they take in the lore, familiar themselves with the map, and steadily gear up to take on their first side-quest in a nearby bandit camp or dungeon.

Read this story and take stock of what you see, who you meet, and what places you discover, because as you uncover the map and fill out your inventory, the things you find in the beginning may help you when problems arise later.
