- malinizgeldiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The novel is truly a masterpiece. Epsilon Twilight literally left a mark on the world of literature with this novel.
one of them is edrie. edrie achieves in 30 years what others have achieved in hundreds of years. just like a snowball, it gets faster and faster and gets faster as it gets stronger. that doesn't mean he's cheating though (up to the 11th star (I think)). he himself works harder than any genius who goes to a magical world. The elven land where it is located is so developed for its development that it makes you dream of a real utopia. here's the time to say that world building is perfect. I would like to say that the magic system and character development are excellent.
I can't think of any other bad ideas about the novel. But I think the finale was rushed. edrie is an elf, not a human. I wish the sequence of events had started at the age of 200, not at the age of 30. I feel like everything will be healthier this way. - DelivuRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I tried fishing around on Royal road as you do when you're bored out of your mind and found this. I did a quick skim through the synopsis, checked its rating and figured it would be a good read, and it met my expectations. It was good, pretty slice-of-life-ish as of now but the potential was unmistakable. You should definitely give this story a try if you're into some sweet, non-human fantasy purple elf magic stuff.
okay, now time for the details...
Story:
I would say it's a pretty standard reincarnation slice-of-life story that does well in its execution and has the framework set for a better plot down the line. In my opinion, the story, although deceptively slow in its progression, does well in keeping pace and brings to life the inner workings of a unique long-lived race that runs differently on social and moral levels. I absolutely loved the take on reincarnation the author did here as it's not overly intrusive to the main plot yet also not completely forgotten after the first few chapters. The afterlife the mc experienced was significant enough to be integral to his character while also providing an adequate reason for his superb affinity for the elements he possesses.
Style:
As a pov lover, I can say the author has performed admirably. The pov changes frequently in the first few chapters but barely ever afterwards which I believe is adequate for such a story. It was done in a way we are left curious about the others' thoughts but not anxious in the way that ruins the experience. The world-building is well done and leans heavily on the mystical imagination of the readers while not being too underdone.
Character:
Each character in the story has a unique personality and has been depicted in a mostly realistic fashion. However, there are some issues with the sheer lack of characters. asides from Marissa, Edrie has no other friends, which is fine but their interactions with other ellari children, at the park, for example, are non-existent. It's only until the schoo - ElvenDenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This fiction is not some kind of flawless masterpiece and even according to the author story was always niche. There are sometimes logical inconsistencies in it, with the explanations of which I do not always agree (but the author will answer your questions, unless you want spoilers). The minor characters are embodiments of cliches and, with one exception, at best have a depth of 2.5d. The main character manages to be typical and not typical at the same time. At this moment, most of the narrative is similar to a slice of life, but gradually fiction begins to increase the pace.
the first book in general is like a standard narrative about rebirth, which can be called "the smartest adult student in school")
The fight scenes are quite interesting, but not exciting.
Although there may be some mortality of friendly characters.
Power levels are not overloaded with colorful names (as it happens in xinxia) and are not as clumsily stupid as it happens in litrpg. And, my God, there is no SYSTEM and there will be no harem. I've listed so many shortcomings here that it may seem like I don't like this story, but no, everything is exactly the opposite.
To be honest, I hate the rating system on RR, where everything below 4 stars is not even opened by people, but even without it I should have given this story 4 stars, but:
a certain childhood friend stole my callous little heart.
And if you perceive this story as niche and do not compare it with some local "masterpiece fictions", then it fully copes with all its responsibilities and deserves its high appreciation. - PeacefulCoreRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the story for it's fast pace, time skip and unique character's and rules that makeup the world. I also like the long Chapter's, even it has a small numbers of Chapter's that total to 100+. It's a great story for bored people like me BUT the only problem it's the ending, and i know it's satisfying BUT you didn't finish the story of what happened to them after the climax and some POV's that you didn't write either to what happened in the end of the story, so this is my review.
Though it's really a good Book 👍 Five Start to this⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - SrstumpalotRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was a very well written and finished story. The fact that it is still completely available on RR and hasn't been ported to Amazon is fantastic. I have a habit of looking for completed works, because I find myself getting bored waiting for a chapter a week. Being able to binge what basically amounts to a trilogy is fantastic!
- darkestnightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0There are not many stories with a mage character who stays a mage and doesn't use a sword
There is a good development of the main character and the story grows from a nice childhood story to a conspiracy of the leaders of the country
I hope it stays as good as it. - WeldtRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I was feeling a bit bored on a Sunday so I decided to go through my read later list and started on a random story that I can't say I regret.
Somehow this grabbed my attention and I can't say I was disappointed.
Story feel is good I like it also it's not like the protagonist is the most bad assed guy out there from the get go.
I can't say anything about the grammar since I think my grammatical knowledge in English just isn't good enough to judge.
I won't give 5 stars since I don't like giving out 5 stars I'm actually gonna lower my score on other stories since now no story imo should have a 5 stars after I read this it's just like this speaks to me on some level.
I would recommend this story to all that like slow start and not overly dramatics
to autor keep up the good work it's a fun read I like how the protagonist starts talking in different way I tend to do the same when I'm around older people :þ - 123urfeeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I feel conflicted as untill a certain something happened this was one of the best stories on this site .But like almost all authors on royalroad they had to go and ruin it, well ruin it might be a bit of an exaggeration as it's just my personal taste and to be honest the story is really good. I really like the magic system and the differences between sorcerers and wizards , the distinction between them makes sense and the protagonist is also likable or has the traits the i prefer some of them being hard working, proactive and knowledge seeking. The author has handled the story really well as it hit the right notes in all the right places but soomething happens around chapter 65 that pisses me off and the way it was introduced and handled was rail roady and what happened made me lose the fire I had for the story as it always does when it happens in other story, like why they can't let the sleepings bears lie and have to poke it. for most readers it won't even make a smick of diiference or will love it as it seems that most readers on this site seems to like it. I will still follow this story as even though the event was a big minus , this story has too much good points . Good job on the story author execpt for the event in question as it's still pissing me off but this is one of the best stories on the site and the amount of work you've put on this story really shows. One of the best progression fantasy without angst and drama except for the event in question
- LittleShoesRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Like the title says, every single chapter so far has grammatical errors and awkward word choices and sentences.
It's bad enough that i am taking off two stars. Other readers milage may vary but for me proper grammar and word choices are very important, otherwise i find myself getting taken out of whatever story is being told and focusing more on suggesting edits.
I'm going to give the author a few pieces of advice. One, invest in some sort of thesaurus program such as grammaryly. It won't help with sentence structure all that much but it will at least alert you to mistakes such as replacing her with here.
Two, there's a saying. "Keep it simple stupid." I want to make it clear i am NOT calling you stupid, i am however saying you shouldn't use words with like 4 syllables when theres a word with 1 or 2 that'll do the job. Keep your language simple and concise and don't try and show off your vocabulary. It makes for a smoother reading experience when people don't have to parse words that would be more at home in a dissertation.
