Book 1 is complete and fully posted here on RoyalRoad. The story is on break as I work on Book 2, which will be posted once I have finished writing it.

Max is a twelve-year-old boy from the slums who dreams of seeing the world, learning magic, and adventure. On the same day that Max learns his first spell, he meets Colt, a noble-born lad on his own path to power. Colt is kind. Oblivious to the world, but kind. By his grace, Max begins to learn under Colt's instructor, even hunting monsters in the forests to the north.

Max is talented and grows in power quickly, but as he prepares for the first of his adventures, the kingdom faces the greatest threat in centuries.

Posting Schedule: Every 3 days until the end of Book 1 (Chapter 45).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1) This is a story about an OP boy doing OP boy things. By the end of Book 1, there will be few fights that he struggles with, and he will rarely, if ever, find his life in peril.

2) This is a slice-of-life and adventure story, which means that there will be periods of chapters without any action or conflict, but also periods of chapters with battles and exploration/adventure (the latter mostly being Book 2+).

3) There will be NO petty squabbles or conflicts going on in this story, because it is meant to be a fun one, not a high-tension, drama-filled story. So it will NOT be that. If you want lots of action or lots of conflict, then find another story to read because this isn't it.

4) There will never be an overarching evil/villain/conflict to deal with in this story past Book 1. Ever.

5) Book 1 is entirely written and can be considered a standalone story on its own. Right now, the story may last 2-3 books, or it may last 7-10 books. It is guaranteed to make it through Book 2 or 3, and if I decide to go with the bigger journey I have planned after that, then it will be longer. There will be a several-month wait between Book 1 and Book 2.

6) The story contains the sexual content tag, but it will not contain any unless Max and his future boyfriend reach 18+ years of age in-story. If I decide to bring the story to a conclusion with Book 2 or 3, or they never reach that age in the full story for the long journey, then I will remove the tag.

7) There are currently absolutely no plans to make this story into a harem if I write the extended story. If I write the extended story and decide at some point to make it one, then I will add the appropriate tag and inform readers of this decision. However, there are currently zero plans to make it one.

8) This story takes place in its own story universe, with its own rules. Please keep that in mind when reading it and other stories.

A really good story. It is easy to read and has an almost flawless writing style. I notice mistakes very easily, but I haven't been able to find any here yet. The characters are well represented and appear realistic. Your actions are understandable and well explained. You could perhaps describe it a little more precisely, but this story is still quite young and a lot can still happen.
Even though English is not my mother tongue, I understand it well enough to realize that it is at a very high level in terms of both spelling and grammar.
The design of the caps is also very good. It always ends in a way that makes you look forward to reading a new cap.
Overall, it would be worth saying:
The story follows the main protagonist and new characters are well integrated without overloading one with too much information.
The same applies to the environment or even the system. Enough information was given to make sense of it, but not too much to bother us.
The story leaves enough unanswered questions to build suspense, but not so many that you don't quite get what it's about, so a really good balance.
Definitely recommended.

Max is a precocious young boy and by virtue of his birthright, is able to teach himself his first spells.
Shortly after, he meets Colt and Colt's bodyguard and instructor, Thomas.
Even though Max has good reason to not trust anyone else, it's clear that the honesty coming from both Colt and Thomas is slowly showing Max that there are some people who are worth trusting and getting closer to.
Max is a kid from the slums, but quickly shows that he's not just any ordinary boy. He's actually a seven-affinity magic user. Which means that he will get stronger at a much faster rate than others who have less affinity.
Will Max be able to survive this new world of magic and monster hunting that he has stepped into?
Will Colt and Thomas prove that they are worthy of friendship?
Only time can tell.
This promises to be another exciting story by Kurt and prepare to sit back and get lost in this vibrant world that he has created.

After a hiatus, Kurt is back and better than ever. The Arcane Prince is a mix of fantasy, adventure, and mystery. Kurt draws you in to the life of Max a kid from the slums and discovers he has a rare gift and want to better himself. But Max is his own worse enemy due to his suspicious nature and lack of trust of those who want to be his friend.
This is a nice read and would recommend the other works of Kurt!

I've never left a review before but this story is so good that I had to write something about it. It may not be one of the most popular stories on RR, but it is such a well written story. There are a few minor grammatical errors but the plot and the characters are so interesting that they aren't a big deal. While the MC is a bit over powered, things are still challenging for him and seeing him gain strength and learn how to trust people has been a really nice part of the story. Also, I would personally consider this to be a very fun, light-hearted, almost cozy fantasy read despite some of the serious topics that come up.
Also, I really really really hope KurtMKing makes this into a huge series with 7-10 books. I would love to see Max and Colt grow up and learn more about the world (and would enthusiastically read that many books to do so). So, please keep writing and I can't wait to see where this story goes.

Is there ever going to be a continuation to this series? The first book is so cute, and I can't wait to see what happens when he heads out on an adventure. Based on other books from this author, it will be amazing! Will keep waiting and hope is not in vain :) Did anyone realize that Zanroval and Zanoralv have the same letters...I wonder if the MC is a god with deleted memories or a son of a god.....please do not drop this story!!!!
