Description

Note: I am re-writing this novel since I lost my original work. I appreciate those who checked my work. I will start uploading again by the end of January 2025.

Born in Trash, Lived Like a Treasure is a powerful story about resilience and self-discovery. It follows a young orphan named Nix, who, despite his harsh beginnings, chooses to rise above his circumstances. Adopted by Granny Laurie, an elderly woman who collects recyclables and weaving wigs, Nix learns that while we cannot control where we are born, we can shape who we become. Through his journey of survival in a challenging world, Nix not only learns the value of hard work and independence but also discovers the true meaning of family, love, and self-worth.

Note: Iapologize for the delayed updates. My schedule has been hectic due to working two jobs, leaving me with very little free time. I will continue to make an effort to upload whenever possible. I appreciate those who took the time to check out Tha-La. Some chapters may seem hurried because I tried to condense them, as my initial drafts were lengthy. I doubt anyone would spend more than 25 minutes listening to one chapter on max speed using @voice or similar tools.I will also try and post this work on Scribblehub for more exposure.

PS: Tha-La is Tala in Tagalog which means Star.

    THE LA
This narrative draws readers into a richly imagined world filled with both danger and resilience. Set on Planet Tha La, the story begins with a catastrophic meteor shower that introduces a mutated virus, drastically altering the planet's ecosystem and its inhabitants. This event sets the stage for a compelling tale of survival and adaptation, as the virus enhances non-human life forms significantly more than humans, leaving humanity vulnerable and struggling to maintain its place in the world.
The narrative effectively builds tension by exploring the rapid evolution of new species and the subsequent societal chaos. The emergence of mutated creatures with mysterious abilities creates an atmosphere of fear and urgency, pushing global leaders to institute martial law and collaborate on defensive strategies. The formation of HOPE (Humankind Outstanding People of Excellence) exemplifies humanity's determination to fight back, highlighting the power of unity and innovation.
The introduction of the Crystal CORE, a catalyst for the monsters' evolution, adds a fascinating layer to the story. HOPE's mission to harness this power for human benefit through Project Rebirth Operation System underscores the theme of adaptation and the relentless human spirit.
Interwoven with this grand narrative is the personal story of Nix Grimwald and his grandmother, Laurie. Their life on Mount Trashmore provides a microcosm of the larger struggle, showcasing themes of resilience, resourcefulness, and family. The stark contrast between the harsh environment and Nix's inventive spirit offers a poignant reflection on hope and human ingenuity.
Overall, the story presents a gripping blend of science fiction and human drama, with rich world-building and compelling characters. The detailed setting and the stakes involved keept me engaged, eager to see how humanity will adapt and survive in this transformed world.
