At Telluride, an elite Bay Area university,everythingis perfect - from the sunny lanes of imported palm trees to the carefully placed Mission Revival architecture to the obscenely talented and successful students. No one’s a better example of this than Sam Pierre, a well-loved, fashionable, and undeniably powerful junior from Brooklyn.

Sam’s excited to come back to Telluride after the pandemic and pick up where she left off. She’s convinced that this year is going to beheryear - she’s staffing at Morrison with her best friends, she’s running the student senate and everything else in her life is exactly where it should be. At least, almost everything. Telluride is very different from what she remembers — dark, apathetic, threatening. Suddenly, there are secrets everywhere, and at the center of it all seems to be one Arda Bashar.

For Arda, the only thing she believes with all her heart is that Telluride is a merciless place. After her stint in the Telluride University Hospital Psychiatric Unit, everything about her life feels unreal and her memories feel like they belong to someone else. The only thing that feels right is organizing against the hell-campus and fighting the TUPD. Arda quickly realizes she’s in over her head when she learns that there is something far more sinister keeping Telluride afloat and decides to team up with Neil Vargas, a friend who Sees more than they let on.

Neil has always hated Telluride because the only redeeming quality  Telluride has is that they have never seen a spirit there. It’s something Neil never cared for, but with the recent loss of their best friend, and the tenth anniversary of their parents’ death approaching, they know they need a break. They’re glad to be moving back in with their tia, only to discover that all the things from the Beyond they were avoiding are freely moving around Telluride. As Neil gets sucked into dealing with Telluride’s issues from this world and the Beyond, they can’t stop realizing that it all seems to be connected to the mysterious boy they discovered, Yuujin.

Something twisted and unnameable has been brewing at Telluride, hiding right out of sight, building towards a terrible end for everyone living there. If the four don’t figure out what’s going on before it’s too late, it will spell doom for everyone trapped at Telluride.
