Description
Antimony is a fan of the game Warframe.
Antimony is not a fan of being within the game Warframe.
Can in-depth knowledge of a world full of power struggles and superhero like beings be enough to survive, and maybe even thrive? Will those with power beyond the material universe itself succeed in their attempts to control her? Will she manage make it home despite these forces, or will she lose herself in the process?
THINGS THAT THIS BOOK IS:
• Slow paced! This is periods of calm punctuated by moments of chaos.• Neurodivergent! Our main character is autistic, and has ADHD, and it's a first person POV, so you are very up close and personal with those sorts of thoughts.• Character focused! A lot of our time is spent on character's; how the react to each other, the situation, and so on. There are entire chapters that are just conversations between two people.• Queer! Our main character is transgender, pansexual, and polyamorous. While the book isn't mainly focused on romance, it won't shy away from it. While there will be moments of tenderness, it will cut away before becoming too explicit.• Trauma! There's a lot of trauma here, not unlike the actual game. But while the game tends to wave over the trauma except in a few story moments, it's very front and center here. The struggle with trauma is central to the story.• Self-insert/isekai! I'm putting these together because I want to be explicit that the main character is somewhere between 80% - 90% just me. That means pop culture references are common, that means that they don't have "unlimited willpower", and they are ultimately just a flawed 20 something from America.
THINGS THAT THIS IS NOT:
• A power fantasy! While our MC gains power, each step is paid for in blood, and usually only manages to slightly level the playing field. Things will never be in her favor.• Reliable! Due to the first person POV, the narrator cannotbe trusted. What they say something is may not be what it actually is, simply what they think it is.• Gamey! This is tagged as Gamelit, due to literally being a game. However, this has no blue boxes, and no stats. This simply takes place in a game world.
Chapters released whenever. 3000 words per chapter on average. I promise I'll finish, but I don't promise how long it'll take me to get there.

- Alex C. ReativeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well, this was a pleasant surprise to be sure.
For a setting I know barely anything about the detail you put in paints a pretty good picture. The sticky feeling of the trees, the taste the air leaves in your mouth, the texture of the earth beneath the feet — I could feel it all and it makes me excited, and slightly disgusted.
The story flows! When I began reading it I couldn't put it down before long into the night.
The protagonist isn't an all-knowing super being, but a squishy nerve-packed sack of meat that a lot of us net dwellers can relate to. They stumble, they learn, they move on. The side characters around them aren't cardboard cutouts either — which warms my heart.
Lastly, this fic made me rethink the way I personally write stuff. So, thanks for that — but I also blame you for setting a new bar for myself. - SophiaaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am loving this story. The way it uses a self-insert main-character gives the story a deep and rich protagonist for us to follow (almost like she is a real person), having struggles and victories withing herself that adds to the story beats beautifully. Also, the story explores the universe of Warframe in a way you just do not see in game, with a on the ground look into the day-to-day of the characters, especially apealing as our protag doesn't start overpowered or omniscient, as the game trully does not adress the mundane, so we learn how the Origin system function with the protag, while also having high level knowledge to work through the big picture when it comes to that.
- Totes_M_GoatsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly I'm glad i didn't skip over this story in my endless search for content to consume. All of the character interactions feel very well thought out and the way the story is going has me wanting to see more. Here's to praying (definitely not begging) for some more chapters soon, whenever or if it may happen.
- werekitRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this story so far, making sure to check it whenever new chapters post. As a player of the game it is an interesting twist on the world and I am very interested in seeing where it leads. There have been absolutely hilarious moments where the inner dialogue and world collide. Ember may be my favorite chapter "Hey Tenno!" followed by oh god what am I doing panic. Also not your typical self insert, no immediate advantages, powers, or glory. Just danger.
- Professor PiqueRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0In full disclosure, this author has personally voiced their dread anticipation of my analysis. Fear not, for I am as capable of magnanimity as I am scorn.
Overall:
Ten.Zero is a chaotic tapestry of trauma and confusion that results in a novel of unrestrained disorder and admirable narrative intent. It offers a protagonist unlike most and a world steeped in lore, but it does so with such erratic pacing, raw emotional texture, and stylistic opacity that it often feels more like spelunking through someone’s diary during a mental breakdown than reading a narrative. There is power in the premise, true, but that power is buried beneath structural fatigue and narrative indulgence. The experience, as a whole, is bewildering, breathless, and perhaps most damningly — exhausting.
Style:
Visually, the work reads like a wall of static. Each uninterrupted paragraph throbs with thoughts, dialogues, and narratives all entangling themselves together. Paragraph spacing is scarce, and as the reader is dragged through this long exhale of language, a sense of mounting fatigue sets in. More egregious still is the mechanical repetition of “He said,” “She said,” in a tired staccato of subject-verb constructs that call to mind the drier passages of Victorian prose, sans the elegance. It is the Dickensian “Said the Man” school of style, unembellished and rhythmically stagnant, yet clinging to modern affect. There is artistry in disarray, and "Ten.Zero" seeks to prove this, but such artistry still benefits from contrast and flourish. While the confused narration reflects Antimony’s broken mental state and invites us into her psyche, its effectiveness is undone when every sentence follows the same uninspired scaffolding. However, despite my apprehensions, I must concede: the confusion is not mere carelessness. It is deliberate. The text itself is a chaotic mind unraveling within a world that cannot or will not offer clarity. To that end, the reader is not meant to float smoothly but to be flun - NononeverRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Okay so, interesting, took QUITE some time to actually get anywhere. Please for the love of all that is holy stop putting different people's dialogue in the same paragraphs. Isnt that some kinda writing sin ? But this does have potential. Could see the MC just becoming really convenient lore exposition and a quick skip past alotta stuff.
