Description

Some are born into greatness. Others stumble upon it, out of luck.

Kal never asked for power. He’s a kind-hearted elf with a quiet soul, more comfortable with herbs than heroics. But when the System descends and transforms the world, bringing with it stats, skills, classes, and monsters, he finds himself caught in a tide he can’t escape. Haunted by fear, driven by longing, Kal begins a journey where survival means more than fighting. It means growing, learning and becoming stronger.

Yet deep beneath the surface of his world, something older stirs. The System is new, at least to Kals world, but the magic is ancient, rooted in forgotten truths and echoing through hidden ruins. As Kal slowly uncovers his strength, he also begins to uncover the mystery of his world and the vast, unknowable forces that watch from beyond. Forces of The Otherworld

A slow, world-building story, with relatively slow progression.

Update schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, until I’ve built up my backlog a bit again.

So far there's a lot set up for the story. It's a very run-of-the-mill and simple start, yet so much is possible, and I can't wait to see where Kal takes his journey. The author states that English isn't their first language, and it shows. But I could get through without any serious hiccups.

The story is very good, the idea is interesting, a different perspective from the System Apocalypse genre.
    However, it has some problems:
    * lack of background information, I understand when the author slowly expands the world, but there is some knowledge that needs to be explained, so as not to cause confusion.
    * continuity and location problems, sometimes it seems like there was a cut between chapters, as if something was missing.
    * lack of information about the functioning and limitations of the system, and about magic before and after the system.
Otherwise, the story is good, and if there was a revision to solve or mitigate these problems, I would give it 4-5 stars.
