Tales of the Great Plains

Description
In the parallel world, civilization is still in its cradle. Time is not yet running fast for local folks here. While we run in a race for well-being, they roam plains and forests, hunting game and gathering fruits. While we are conquering space, they have barely learned to conquer rivers. While we read fantasy sagas and know they are not true, they tell each other legends and take them seriously. We have smartphones, AI, and atomic bombs; they will get it all too, but a little later. We are already past certain points, and that makes us feel disinterested in ourselves. They, on the other hand, have plenty of time before their first holocaust, and that’s what makes them interesting—how will they use it? What will they build? How will they grow? Maybe, they will manage to do better than us? Maybe, there will be something for us to learn from them?
First issue in my “Letters from Another Worldˮ project. In this series, we follow Dyovi*—a local tribesman from the valley of the River Ma, at the eastern end of the Great Plains. One day he is approached by a strange man who asks him to help gather stories from around the Plains. With little doubt, Dyovi agrees and sets out on a journey across this massive region. He visits lots of places, inhabited by a multitude of people who may seem primitive in their lifestyle at first glance, but whose worldviews are intricate and complex. Each chapter is a new experience, a new knowledge to obtain, often a new challenge to overcome, and always – a new story from locals to enjoy.

- HippioScipioRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall - I'd say that Tales of the Great Plains is an interesting collection of stories and I enjoyed reading it.
Style - The author's style is, from what I've read so far, quite to the point. I have pretty much always been a fan of this kind of style but occasionally its inherent flaw shines through in bullet point-esque storytelling. But the author mitigates it for the most part with solid writing.
Character - Due to the nature of this work there are quite a few characters and a lot of them are written well and thus are interesting. The narrator's characterisation is an interesting dynamic in this work and one that is handled quite well.
Story - There are a lot of them.
Grammar - No issues so far as I could tell.
