Tales of the Aspects

This is where I am setting down short stories based on the world of my main story, The Cage.

In brief, the world of The Cage is one where humans were once cosmic, reality-bending abominations who plagued the universe. Like many Lovecraftian horrors, the afflictions they caused were usually purely incidental. They simply did not notice the suffering of lesser creatures.

Eventually, they were somehow defeated, stripped of memory, and locked into a false Earth in a false reality.

Pieces of their Broken Gods, once the most powerful among them, sometimes find the prison reality and merge with suitable human hosts. Archetypes with unusual powers are created, based on the qualities or flaws of the Gods from which the shards were made. Primary Aspects include names like the Vigilante, the Polymath, the Murderer and the Mastermind.

The main story has the Beggar, the Homewrecker, the Henchman, the Gambler, the Miser and the Monster as its protagonists.

The short stories here will feature characters that I imagined and wanted to write, but would not fit into the main story. Big names like the Cuckold, the Neglected Wife and the Addict will find a place here. Most of these tales will not be happy.
