Description
Most dragons are gone. Those that have survived stopping the calamities throughout time have been hunted, being chased to the ends of the earth by cults that know their every weakness. Some of them fell to infighting, being dragged into wars by the mortals they watch over.
A lone dragon makes his way through the world. He is the Weaver of Tales, an ancient being that has existed since the first story. Long ago he was hunted by the first cult of dragon slayers. To survive the Weaver has assumed a thousand lives throughout history, he now poses as a traveling bard telling tales of his many lifetimes. His obsessive search for any signs of another dragon drives him ever forward.
Weaver prepares constantly for a coming calamity. Gathering strength to save the world once again. The mortal lands constantly change and he must adapt quickly to the times. Will the hunters find him? Will he discover a long lost dragon that has survived? What does the world hold in store? Will he stop the apocalypse?
This is a slice of life story interspersed with short stories detailing the many lives that Weaver has lived. Tales of magic, battle, survival, conquering, war, and peace await you. A constant journey of discovery in a world that changes like the tides.

- AlejoTheBearRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Even so early I am quite pulled into the world the author is revealing before my eyes as well as the relishing the skill on display. Some might not find joy in semi multiple points of view through the storys the main character is telling but I sure do. I hope to keep reading this for a long time to come.
- Anita JuliaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the enchanting story of the bard dragon. It had been a long time since I could immerse myself in any tale on the site, but this one caught me by surprise. The way the character combines his imposing majesty with artistic sensitivity is an unexpected and fascinating blend. Each word resonated like a melody, and the world-building was so rich that I felt immersed in an epic fable. Thank you for rekindling my passion for reading with such a unique and captivating work.
- Azure MessiahRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The storytelling is exceptional! It's easy to read and has very digestible chapters. I like how there are subtle special changes in the style, or rather the way you write for specific chapters and tales, switching perspectives. And like the title may suggest, I don't read first-person, nor do I enjoy them. I’ve completely changed my mind after reading "Oh Ye the Traveling Bard!” You gotta have a good blend. It’s almost as though it was written a long time ago, before phones; there were dragons, dragon cults, warmongers, and more.
Story: These short campfire stories and other side stories that they go into, along with the travels of the bard himself, form this almost stoic tale of true fantasy I haven't seen in a long time, not ever since “Mother of All Learning.” Not that they are the same story in any way, but how it's expressed and told emphatically.
Grammar: The grammar is great. No issues on my end. I like the way you italicized things; definitely a great takeaway for new authors like me. For sure an advance author as well, very knowledgeable, and I love the word choice for a handful of descriptions.
Character: I had no idea what a traveling bard was until this story. Apparently, they are nomads, but that doesn’t sum him up; he's more of a badass wanderlust. The bard is a cool calm and collected character haunted by his mysterious past; it almost seems, at least to me, he’s lived a thousand lives and has seen this all before. He wants peace and can never seem to have it.
World Building: There are no criteria for world-building, but I want to get into it really quick. It’s very grounded like the story itself is. It's a fantastic world, set in around the 5th century c.e, you can go to coffee shops like anywhere else, paths that lead to small villages or maybe you don’t get to town. Set up a campfire and strum and sing. The world is beautiful now, but the past is war-torn, and the remnants you can see glittered through the travels, and I love that. When read - GoldSphereRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story surprised me with its advanced writing and dialogue, and it's such a unique story with an interesting main character.
The stories that he tells also serve as world building, making it a great way to introduce us to the larger plot I think is emerging. It promises to be a somewhat slow burn with many breaks, but I'm here for it! - JnuloverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A good start to what seems like a short story collection. Some hopes that it’ll have a greater overarching plot between these tales. Nice delineation between first person perspective for Dolan’s perspective versus the third person perspective of the tales.
beware of a minor spoiler below.
it appears the other has done some work on it and improved the flow of the story.
tags didn’t make a lot of sense until the end of The Rise and Fall - Living.DruidRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel is in my top 3 because of a few reasons , mainly is that it’s worldbuilding is superb and i’m yet to find a novel that tops it, secondly is that the characters feel so alive to me and his journey isn’t just, I did this,I did that, then this happened , its so much more, lastly I just find it enjoyable and a nice chill slide of life to read anywhere.
- ShogaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've only just finished reading the first tale told, of the Two Bits Dragon. But I can say with full certainty, that is is a story worth reading. Everything I have seen thus far, for the worlds lore to the phenomenal skill of the author has told me that I am going to be very very sad when I catch up and have to wait for the next chapter. Happy reading everyone!
