Tales of Cannesia: A Book of Short Stories
Community Rating
Description
290 years ago, the Manarians landed on our planet. Since they colonized us, we have been playing catch-up with the galaxy.
Now, with access to modern technology, we have been excavating ancient texts and learning about ourselves, too. We are the Cannesians. These are our stories, and the stories of those in the galaxy at large.
Tales of Cannesia will be updatedat leastweekly. This is an ongoing project that takes place in a universe in which I am writing a novel.
Genres vary from story to story. For example, the first story is speculative/soft sci-fi, but the second story is fantasy with a mythos vibe.
There's a lot of "story within a story" going on, kind of like in1001 Nights (aka ArabianNights).
A working table of contents is available on the first page. The most recent pages may not be updated in the table yet.
Chapters are generally short and punchy.

- HirambeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So, I just checked out "Tales of Cannesia" by Eddie Case, and let me tell you, it's a trip!
Writing Style: The writing style here is right to the point, 0 fillers, which is great because it keeps things moving smoothly. There's also some sly humor sprinkled in, which adds a cool vibe to the whole thing.
Grammar: No worries on the grammar front! It's all on point, and I didn't spot too many glaring errors. You can read without stumbling, which is always a win.
Story: So, the story is like a mix of sci-fi and a reality check on society. It's all about the Breegans, who go from breeding pets to total biohacking. But, like, their choices have some seriously unexpected consequences. It's like a rollercoaster of ethical questions, science gone wild, and the fallout of messing with nature. If you're into thinking about the bigger picture, you'll dig this.
Character: Even though the story is on the shorter side, the characters bring some flavor. You've got Emperor Gorsch III making these wild decisions, and the sentient gher cap fish dealing with an existential crisis – like, who saw that coming? Each character has their role in showing how choices affect society, and they all fit into the bigger theme.
