The story flowed really well, it was clear when the flashback started and ended. I didn't catch anything grammar/punctuation-wise that was recurring and hindered my experience with reading through this piece, but I left a comment for two teensy tweaks.
I was definitely feeling Tal's frustrations with the aunt. Oh my god, I swear she was enjoying some of the stuff she did. Extra kudos on that snake metaphor!
In focusing on Tal, If I had to guess Tal's age from their POV, it would probably be around 10-11, so if that's the age you were going for in your writing, great job! I got the vibe that they were aware enough to know exactly what they were doing was wrong, just not the weight of what they were doing.
Overall, great short story! Thanks for rec'ing it!
