Take Two!

Description
College student majoring in botany has a fateful encounter with truck-kun while trying to get back in shape after realizing that his freshman 15 turned into the sophomore 20, and then the junior 30.
After going through a very amusing(to some) hell, he gets the chance to transmigrate into a body of his own design on a magical world. Playing to his strengths, he chose the Plantkin race, and the new name of Sorrel to match.
This is a slow-paced, magical, slice-of-life story with a focus on relationships. There will be sex(I'll try to keep the explicit stuff to a minimum, but it will be there), swearing, really bad jokes, and enough food to spoil your diet. There will not be a lot of action, epic quests to save the world, or anything even remotely resembling a big-bad-evil-guy(a few smaller bad guys, sure. But, no BBEG).
Note: This is a re-write of my first story "Congratulations, You're Dead!". And, is much more what I wish I had written in the first place. The characters and the world are very similar, with a few key differences. The story may borrow some elements from Congrats, but should be considered as its own work. Reading Congrats first is not needed, or even reccommended, not unless you want to see some really cringey romance in the early chapters.

- SeadrakeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Congratulations, You're Dead! Was one of my favorites and learning about its rewrite was scary. It shouldn't have been though.
Take 2 takes all the best bits and pieces spinning them in a completely new story. Changing the setting to include much more magic and allow Sorrel to be amazing without being stupidly over powered and without resistance.
Additionally Apricot and Amelia are back and funner than ever. It's going great so far and I have great confidence that it will go farther than ever. - Rae RaeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I followed "Congrats" all the way until its sad "conclusion", or rather permanent Hiatus. It followed Sorrel, a plantkin shapeshifter who isn't comfortable in his own fake skin with severe mental trauma from having experienced death something like 88 times in various horrific ways. The pace was alright and the stroy moved along rather quickly but there were a lot of flaws and the OP MC thing is fun but, eh.
Take 2 takes off and rushes Sorrel into trilationship from the first story but after that, the pacing smooths out and the story becomes more of a slice about a pretty decent plantkin mage who seems to nore of a rounded out guy and, even though he is occasionally plagued by the trauma of getting ripped apart by wolves over and over again, it doesn't turn him into a mushy turd who's scared of his own shadow. Though currently on Hiatus, I'm looking forward to following this fun little thrupple as they, eventually, explore this magical little world.
Just really hope it picks back soon. - RunebaneRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Storyline seems ok. A guy with emotional damage wanders a different world with his new girlfriends. Along the way he re-invents stuff from the modern world, re-discovers lost stuff from the magical world, and generally does whatever he wants.
Some readers may have an issue with the MC's personality. To explain it without spoilers - the MC would rather develop a scientific solution to problems than just usw his magic. He'll build something that mimics his magic intead of just teaching it. Now I'm not saying he doesn't teach magic, he does. But if he knows the science he goes with that instead. Nothing wrong with this, but some readers might find him an aquired taste.
The writing itself is fairly good (imo), but inconsistent sometimes. For example: some of the MC's creations get overly wordy descriptions. Telling us in detail how its created, the materials involved, time required, etc... While other things only get a sentence or two and are then forgotten as the story moves on. Overall, I have to say that I liked the first version more. This one is still worth reading though. I think its a decent story. - SonnyChibaRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Pretty much the same as the first but with more focus on the relationships.
Style is the same as the first so no real problems, grammar is fine. Story and characters are just slapped together to make more love scenes/jokes. The MC's talk like how a bunch of 13 year olds assume adults talk.
The story description changed for this one and the tags are different as well. If you are into instant love stories with never ending cringey sex jokes this is your story. Otherwise look elsewhere.
