When a fantasy apocalypse hits Earth, and horrific monsters erupt from dungeons, two families from Missouri must use their new magical abilities to survive in a brutal world of magic, monsters, and death.

Overnight old Earth has become the twisted land of Utopia, where both families team up with their neighbors to form the Kingdom of Raintree. They work together to find resources, level-up, and defend themselves from ever worsening waves of monsters.

If they can stay alive for long enough, then they will have a shot at the ultimate prize: immortality.

... It's three Kobolds in a Trenchcoat.
Sorry/notsorry. My phone suggested the word 'Trenchcoat' and now the song is stuck in my head.
Ahem.
So this piece, cleverly disguised as a review but isn't, is where I *don't* go on about how much I love this story, because that goes without saying. Or about how it's my favourite story on RR, and I read some *good* ones. Or how sometimes it'll rip your guts out and leave your poor heart bleeding on the floor one chapter, then another will have you laugh so hard you almost pee and definitely have to explain the noises to the neighbours at some point.
There's Dad humour, some pretty epic songs, the kids aren't horribly annoying and they're all well written! Everyone is well-written, even if they're a horrible person, you'll at least understand what their fears and insecurities are.
It's a story you can sink your teeth into, and go back and reread chapters because *damn*.
Give it a read, and if you feel like commenting about song suggestions or other crazy ideas you just *have* to know if it's included... Tell them I sent you.

I really like this type of story about family and kingdom building I don't know it just kinda warms my heart and really like the pacing not to fast and the characters too are kinda realistic as the side characters have different personalities and traits

Interesting families. Hope Chloe gets a friend after all this poor kid needs one or a least a pet, 1 who can defend her since she's support/back of the line type. Tom might not be the best cook but he was the 1st to step up and get people fed and as a fighter knowingly takes the pain instead the safe route with his power choices.
Good story looking forward to your next chapter.

The System apocalypse isn't all that systemic. They're are, it seems, a lot of behind the scenes competing interventions going on
Skill upgrades are, apparently paid for by loot dropped coins. Only the person the loot is intended for can pick it up.
So far it's two families with kids desperately trying to deal and survive, just starting to get a clue.
It's well written with believable combat scenes.
Oh, unique classes? The tank's class is Fighter/sponge
