Haven't read read something this good in a long time. Characters make sense slot it going on in the world. It's so good I had to put it down for a bit due to awesomeness overload.
I was worried a bit in the beginning of the story that it was going to suck. His advantages seem a bit out of place in the world by being so OP but after giving the story a chance I got over it. Nothing is to OP for night City.
The characters have plenty of depth. The decisions they make are believable and often against my expectations, in a good way.
I expect this story to reach the high in ranking on RR. I don't often right reviews unless something stands out and this one doesn't disappoint like so many others.
I often find books that bother me by going down such uninteresting paths. None of that here so far. Fingers crossed.
Was worried for a bit with the MC battling his conscience several chapters in. I was like please no don't let him turn into a b****. I don't think I would have been able to handle it. Thankfully the story didn't turn into an unreasonable drama factory. Can't stand when that happens.

When I first started, I didn't think it would go so in-depth with the lore as it went, but my god, this was awesome. The characters feel alive in a very real way, and this is effectively conveyed through their dialogue. It makes you feel like you are living through the character's eyes. The side characters have been well polished, and even when you don't see a character for a while, it doesn't feel as if they've been sidelined or forgotten, which I really like. The action scenes are good and well executed, and the world has depth that just makes the story flow so well.  Haven't seen a cyberpunk fanfiction hook me this good.
Oh, the chapters are long too which is always a big plus.
    Read it. It's good.

Honestly this fic should be getting way more views an traction than it is. The characters voices are distinct throughout the fix, the description of the fights feels as smooth and fast as the mods allow and the author doesn't neglect the reality of a brutal masochistic society. Props to the author to paint the naivety and fun someone would have being so young and access to superhuman body mods while still keeping with the harshness of getting machines grafted into your body in order to just keep up with others who have more chrome.
I know your reading this author and I demand more!!!!

"Burn away my enemies, take for me their wives, and sit me upon a throne undying. Then, I'll make this world good."
Royal Road's a slot machine, and this one's a jackpot.
Was having no knowledge of cyberpunk an issue? No. I still don't know what an ICE is, though.
A general mood of anger and vindication pervade this work. This work is filled with emotion and it can bend your passions towards it as you read. That's quite a high bar to pass. Though it rradiates into making the comment section rather hostile.
I think there's a thin line between being "earnestly gritty", and being "angsty and sophomoric". This straddles it nicely. He's also a teenager with every kind of problem on his table, so it doesn't feel like something imposed from the outside. The generally pragmatic way he approaches life doesn't make me start getting annoyed with the "he's supposed to be stupid" protagonist pitfall.
This is willing to play with harder ideas in a way a lot of the standard fare isn't. And a dark edge always makes the other colors brighter.
I think it's the first story to feature cuckolding your enemy I've read. The guy gets it awfully, and yet probably deserves it.
I found the moment with the Devil deeply striking.
A full-fledged Cartelcore experience, being corrupt too in a corrupt world. Indulging yourself in the unjustifiable and yet still hoping in a distant way that you can be the greater good. The dialogue between people's social walls in a trustless society.
This protagonist is one with a strong advantage, but the story places attention to not letting him grow cocky and disconnected from the realities of his situation. There are times he wins, times he loses, and the damage isn't just brushed off. He takes an intelligent and strategic approach to gaining further power, plus or minus understandable situations that come up. He isn't static and visibly improves his foibles over the course of the story.
In conclusion, I would like you to succeed so you write more.

Style: author has a very distinct style of writing, it flows well and feels to me like it matches amazingly with the cyberpunk universe. At the end of each arc it feels like we get a glimpse on the impact MC has had on the other people through some POV shifts and its done in a nice way. Also Author is very good at making you dislike the dislikeable characters!
Story: Normally i don't really like stories where the MC is an established character in the universe in this case David Martinez, but since i never really finished Edgerunners and also its so well written i don't mind it in this case. its really good
Grammar: The grammar is near perfect, definitely a cut above most stories here on RR.
Character: All characters seem to be distinct most of the time. I almost never have trouble understanding who's words I'm reading and they all feel like they have their own impact on the world and the MC.
TL:DR: Story is preem, Grammar is nova( is nova better or is preem?) Characters are so good (chef's kiss) Style is great too.
Keep up the great writing author you're amazing, and i hope i get to read this story for a long time(until it finishes).

I don't usually write reviews, but if this gives you motivation to write more of this, why the fuck not. This is genuinely some of the best stuff I've read in a while and I'm glad I found it when I was going through a drought of reading material, literally an oasis in a desert. Hope you don't stop writing this. Looking forwards to more.

Very enjoyable, don't let the fanfiction tag scare you away: I haven't seen Edgerunners and haven't had any problems following along with System Override.
Character: Characters can be contradictory and hypocritical, but in a way that was clearly intended by the author. No matter how smart David gets, he's still a cocky, emotional, and traumatised kid. Don't expect a perfect MC that can do no wrong. All the interactions between the MC and the side cast are great, while those little lines showing the interactions the side cast have with each other really humanises them and makes them feel like they have their own lives going on in the background.
The MC's motivations can feel a little directionless, but this is an in-character flaw that feels very intentional. It's something that David admits to, and trying to find a purpose that's truly his own is one of the themes of the story.
There is romance in the story, but I wouldn't call it a Romance Story.
Grammar: Essentially perfect, I think I noticed a single issue in a quarter million words.
Style: It's dark, gritty, and violent, just like Night City. Whether he's having a heart-to-heart with his chooms or slicing strommers and scavs to bits, David's personality bleeds through into the writing in a way that makes you feel like you're right there with him. The first-person perspective colours the world we see in a way that gives a strong impression of David's life before the reader joins him, without the use of flashbacks.
Story: Quintessential cyberpunk. It merges very well with the other categories to give you a good sense of the corpo run world David lives in, and the story follows him as he goes from a street kid struggling to survive to a real badass. The overarching "main story" still feels distant and vague. There are definitely hints about where things could be going
using the merger/buyout to his advantage, rising up the ranks of Arasaka, investigating the sandy's origins, off-planet mysteries

This is a fantastic bit of Cyberpunk. It hits all the notes of the world, while threading in some great progression as well. It doesn't lean in on clunky litrpg tables to show progression, and does it well. If you like Gohst in the City, Neon Dragons, or Outrun, you'll like this.

This is truly a masterpiece - the plot, the backstory, the characters, the relationships, they're all beautifully complex and captivating and the writing is clear and engaging. The duality of David's two opposite approaches to reaching his goals is a fascinating original idea. Every time one of these chapters drops I absolutely devour it and then keep checking my phone again and again hoping there's a new chapter up already. Can't wait for the next one.
