- JacksonRoyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really enjoy the way this author writes. The world feels tight and gritty and I don't feel like they need to shove world building down your throat like many authors.
A great premise with a relatable protagonist . I'm excited to see where this one is going. If you're on the fence give it a shot I think you'll enjoy it ! - RwgunnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Currently, I just finished the 15th chapter of this new work. As is generally hoped for by most readers, the ideas that underpin this story are a fresh look at a progression type tale. For that, and the promise of a fun ride on this literary journey, I have given it 5 stars because I find that I am still interested and looking forward to each installment (and that’s with the full on progression/RPGLit structure only now coming into the story!)
The writing style feels a bit like a newer author who is still learning (Sorry, if it isn’t!) but also one who shows promise in the growth of their writing prowess, as well as a freshness that hasn’t been dulled by too many years of being beaten up by grammar-Nazis.
When I read these kinds of stories, I usually am placing myself in the situations of the characters. One of the areas the author needs to improve on is making the reactions and feelings of the characters during their various experiences meet the expectations the reader may have when they put themselves into the story while reading it. There have been several places where I found myself feeling a dissonance toward how quick the MC changed in their acceptance of what is happening or what is being expected of them and it has taken me out of the story.
I’ll come back and update this review after the story progresses a bit more. - SunghostRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just started reading this and immediately fell in love with the protagonist, he's a practical fellow and is a pretty relatable guy.
The mystery of the Doom towers is quite intriguing and I can't wait to see what the author does with it's lore in later chapters!
I also really like how the action scenes are done in this book, the writing style allows for clear and easy visualization.
Keep up the good work!
