Nothing will stop Young Master Wei An Wei from exacting his revenge upon his father. Not the forces of the Claimed Hells. Not the laws of reality itself.
Young Master Wei An Wei of the Drowned Sky Sect lived a life of martial excellence, dedicated to cultivation and the honoring of his family and sect. His life should have been one of triumph and virtue, with the end of his journey driving him to surpass the heavens above. Instead, one day, for seemingly no reason at all, his father murdered his mother, broke the protections guarding his sect, and damned his world to the legions of hell.
Left for dead in the aftermath of his father's betrayal, Wei reached out for anything and anyone that could fulfill his plea for revenge and discovered his wounded spirit infused with aSystemdesigned to break otherSystems--and reality itself. Now,once Young Master of the Drowned Sky Sect chased his father into the Claimed Hells, into a den of vice and virtue, into a diaspora of countless factions, players, cultures, and other System-Hosts; into a power struggle fated to reshape existence itself...
Expect:
-A skilled to strong, vicious, and cunning, but still somewhat honorable anti-hero protagonist
- Multiple chains of progression, including the reality-breaking System itself, a soul-bound demon weapon, and a DnD-like "spell crafting" system
- A System that allows its user to damage the foundational rules of reality itself, such as breaking the relative distance separating them and another object with their fists.
- The main character eventually participating and repelling apocalypses in defense of vulnerable worlds being assailed by hostileSystems
- A unique but also familiar setting filled with clashing fantasy factions within a conquered and colonized version of hell
- Kinetic and thrilling fights
- An enigmatic ally/enemy mentor trying to elevate and ready the MC for a realm of hellish politics...

- yoav3465Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Mammal has made yet another story. And this one? This one starts out with a bang. Wei an wei is the young master of the drowning sky sect, currently watching his world get invaded and everyone he knows die in Vein to try and stop the invasion force. As he does not want to die alone he goes to the centre of his sect, where his parents are. But once he gets there all he sees is his father with his blade, and his mother dead. Her head rolling on the floor. This breaks wei who can only attack his father with pure rage in his heart while his father is despondent and teary eyed. Wei then calls down tribulation on them both but in the process sees strange things separate the father and son from their fated death as both of them are thrusted into the CLAIMED HELLS, Thus setting in motion wei an wei goal for the story. REVENGE.
From the first chapter alone the story oozes style like a free flowing waterfall from a great height, not surprising given mammals other story godclads is similarly stylish.
The grammar could be a bit better but it is still in the high tiers of readability even with a typo or two in the mix.
And from what we have seen from the characters? They are vibrant and alive. If a nit simplistic, which is fair, because it is only a story in the start of its journey.
Overall? I whole hearted give this story a 5/5.. - CosmorosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Considering my stance on xianxia, I thought this would be another young master's slapping simulator with arrogant masters and standard tropes that I have seen a million times and no longer enjoy.
First of all, all of that is not what this novel is. There is nothing like that so far. Our MC acts like a cultivator in the appropriate sense of the word. Not going around trying to slap people for an insult or even daring to breath at them.
Also, he is totally stable, and the system must shut up :)
The world is well done and explained to acceptable levels, not going into walls of text and explaining enough to be able to imagine the surroundings. The backstory of that world is also well done and entertaining to read.
The characters in the story all feel different and are not extensions of the author. Even fights are done well and not overly enlarged to boost word count on scenes that are practically impossible to imagine.
I highly recommend the story to read. In Aug plan on buying Patreon content, too - Big_BasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0After reading Godclads I cannot fathom a work of Mammal being anything but top quality, and fortunately I'm not disappointed.
Knowing what absolutely god tier worldbuilding this author is capable of, I'm very excited about what has been revealed so far. This novel is an easy follow, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fresh and real feeling take on what is otherwise an extremely oversaturated genre. - LampLiquifierRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Mammal has successfully integrated the big three genres of Royal Road.
Xianxia, system apocalypse, and litrpg. As you read and more chapters drop (and more of which is on the patreon) you’ll see all 3 aspects constantly come up.
The protagonist Wei is your average and honorable Young Master who sees his sect and world get destroyed. His only lifeline is the interest a System Lord takes in him because Wei has unlocked one of the most dangerous abilities in the universe- a system breaker. There exist many types of systems, from litrpg, xianxia type, and more esoteric types. Wei has the chance to evolve his powers to utterly cripple other large powers… in the future.
The story and characters themselves are fun. Doubt is foreign to Wei, and he’s driven like an arrow to what he wants. There’s no whimpering about how sad he is, no despair, only a fiery vengeance pushing him forward.
Of course like Mammal’s other work, you’ll find comedy and absurdity in nicely measured cups. Not to the point where it disrupts the story, but rather enhances it. You’ll never be shaken out of your rapt attention to the writing.
10/10, 5/5, this is definitely a fan for any and everyone on Royal Road. - Reggie888888Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Super intricate and interesting, the author is a magician 🤓. I don't know how you come up with this shit, just keep it coming and never stop, even after you die. One day I will crash my car reading your stories :) need 50 words mind too small peanuts peanuts
- TastermindRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Another great story from mammal! I don’t do reviews often but I’ve gotta do one for this!
This story asks the age old question of, what does a cultivator do when taken to a non-cultivator world. The answer is, of course, kill a lot things and not budge their ideology and inch. Or in other words, nothing changes that much. It also asks the question, just how patricidal can one person get, the answer is, quite a lot. - VedcikkkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Amazing read so far. Great combination of humour and tension. The protagonist is bit of arrogant young master, but Ig that’s the point with his character. He’s near a mental breakdown, and I’m looking forward to read how he’ll develop after that.
All in all, another banger from the author. - lkal92Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0From the creator of Godclads comes what seems to be an attempt at a more standard story, mixing xianxia, system apocalypses, and an MC with potential to become OP. Of course, being a Mammal story, that means that eldritch horrors lurk on every corner of beautifully desolate landscapes, trauma befalls everyone, and the System is complex and unconventional.
That's not to say it's too grimderp or over-the-top. There's a familiar framework to the story, tropes deconstructed and given a unique aesthetic under one of the best, most wickedly-imaginative minds in fantasy.
We start in a day of the life of Wei an Wei and watch as that day very quickly goes to hell. From there, we’re taken on a whirlwind ride of violence and mindbending environments. Starting as your traditional cultivator prodigy, Wei soon discovers his early-game cheat code and begins exploring the wider universe as he seeks revenge and, beyond that, his place in a cosmology far greater than he ever imagined.
Stylistically, beautiful prose. Some unfamiliar terminology but it's not like his other web serial, Godclads, where the jargon takes a while to decipher, to the annoyance of some readers. Most things are understandable contextually or by having some familiarity with the genres, while having enough exposition to clue in newer readers. There are some descriptions on occasion that are hard to wrap my head around at first, but that's because the beginning is a flurry of chaotic hellscapes and eldritch abominations--the kind of things that defy traditional explanation, and so require a little trickery to describe. In a way, it forces your imagination to expand. Dialogue is also good--characters have unique voices and it never feels stilted.
The story and characters so far are compelling. We are basically in the tutorial phase atm, but the setting and situations defy the traditional boring starting town and going around killing level two slimes. Side characters and key players are being introduced at this poi - spacetaacoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The mix up of basically every magic system common on royal roads is probably the biggest appeal of this novel. I also enjoy the fights. Characters will need more development but it's still early and I'm confident giving the author's other work, that the characters interactions and development will be excellence.
- Ethan leahyRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0While I’m sure you can logically say that his mind being broke makes sense with will and not mind being incalculable, that’s, to me is simply Bullshit and misses the foundation of willpower. Even in the story it seems inconsistent with its use age.
If it had been 100,1000 or even 1 million then sure it can’t help him overcome all the shit but if he can push back a god with his willpower then I simply can’t reconcile it personally. This on top of it seeming to manifest as generic cultivator mindset is simply uninteresting with no change seeming in the future.
With such criticism the rating may not make sense, but the story is simple great and I found very unique and well executed outside of mc. The world and other characters are great and if enjoy or can ignore the mc problems then it’ll be an amazing story. I wish this didn’t bother me and that I could delve into the fascinating world, while I’ve seen other systems before this well established mythos of them is definitely different.
heres hoping for a future re-read.
