- ApollogizeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you're a fan of LitRPGs with rich lore, dynamic systems, and characters you can't help but root for, Suzerain is a must-read. From the very first chapter, this story pulls you into a world where the System isn't some newfangled gimmick—it’s been integrated for thousands of years, shaping societies, power structures, and, of course, the fate of our hero, Arthur.
Arthur is a compelling protagonist with just the right mix of determination, wit, and a touch of youthful arrogance. His blessing from Dominus, The Forgotten Deity, sets him apart in a world where everyone has their own path to power. Watching Arthur struggle to forge his own legacy while living in the shadow of his family name is both relatable and inspiring. He’s not just trying to grow stronger—he’s trying to become someone truly worthy of the title "Suzerain."
But let’s talk about one of the standout characters: Arthur’s grandfather. This guy absolutely steals the show! With his sharp mind, gruff demeanor, and undeniable wisdom, he’s the type of mentor every LitRPG protagonist dreams of having. Whether he’s dishing out tough love or imparting cryptic advice, he leaves a lasting impression, and you’ll find yourself eagerly awaiting his next scene.
The System itself is another highlight. Instead of feeling like a copy-paste from other LitRPGs, it’s intricately tied to the world’s history and culture. The balance of mechanics and world-building is seamless, and the way the System interacts with blessings, cults, and darker forces keeps the stakes sky-high. Each new skill or power Arthur earns feels hard-won and significant, adding a satisfying progression element that fans of the genre will appreciate.
What really sets Suzerain apart is its blend of action, mystery, and a touch of intrigue. With ancient cults and dark dealings lurking in the background, the plot constantly keeps you on your toes. Just when you think you know what’s coming, the story throws you a curveball.
In short, Suzerain is an absolut - DRRHatchRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'l keep this simple, I haven't gotten to the next book yet but the first one is well worth the read. I don't know why I haven't heard this one talked about more, it's a super fresh take on LitRPG and Arthur is a joy to follow. Loved it! Highly recommended.
- Silent nightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I binged allow the story that is out. It just drew me in, with the setting and characters. I would recommend for anyone. I like the setting and piot. It is laid back but gets more serious as it goes on.
I'm just filling the word count now ZZZ ZZZ zzz - LiverisTastyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This author writes a damn interesting story. I believe this will be a novel to keep an eye out for. I love stats-based stories, so this is right up my alley. I will tune in to see how the MC will progress in this crazy world.
Style Score: The story is pretty straightforward and stylistically very easy to follow. There are no crazy page-long stat pages, which I can appreciate. This is just plain good writing. The stats that are present are very easy to manage. The story doesn't feel overly like there is just a huge stat dump.
Story Score: I like that the story is a slow burn to help build up the suspense and not let the mc to speed run through the plot. The story itself develops pretty naturally. The class-based system keeps it fresh while the world slowly unveils itself to you.
Grammar Score: The grammar is on point, and this person edits. There are some very minor things. I'm okay with it as long as it's not like web novel stories.
Character Score: I like the main character. They are not too arrogant, but they are not bumbling idiots. The progression in the chapters I have read also shows some character growth. I am definitely invested in Arthurs's journey to conquering his class.
