Survivor: An Age of Steel and Myth

When people think of the world ending, they usually come up with some idea of a Zombie or Nucular apocolypse. The reality was a bit different.

The world ended in a hacking cough, due to an illness that had infected the lands around us. A group of 'terrorists' wanted to create a symbiotic disease that would force humanity to evolve as they said that Humanity was a stagnant species doomed to kill ourselves. So they made a biological weapon, a virus that acted like a bacteria, fully capable of self-evolution. It was made to infect only humans and nothing else. It was made to push humanity to the next level of existance, to unlock the latent potential hidden within our minds. They released it across the world in highly populated cities, from New York to Hong Kong. No country was safe, as only a single person would enter a country with this virus, and when two hundred people invaded the hundred and ninety something countries the signal was given.

The world as we knew it ended in a week. Durring that time, people started to mutate, change into monsters and undead creatures. Durring all this time I was sick, locked in my room as I lived of medications in order to keep a horrible cold at bay. I never knew of how the airports transported this disease across the world, of how the miltary was infected and unable to fight, of how humanity hid in bunkers to try and survive. I was busy being locked up in my apartment, and it wasn't until three weeks after the world ended that I was able to head outside.
