Description

[completed the October 2022 and April 2023 Writathon ]

In the town of Destiny, Florida (not to be confused with Destin, also in Florida), magic portals open and spew out undead horrors. A few lucky survivors discover that killing the invaders grants magic powers seemingly following popular game or comic book tropes. For Maya Wennefer that's only the beginning of her problems.

Invaders from another world, normal people realizing there are easier paths to power, the government's reaction to the new reality; surviving all that is hard, let alone becoming a superhero. As chaos spreads and stronger monsters appear, human greed may yet prove to be more dangerous than any invader.

What to expect:Man-eating monsters, unsupervised young adults, mistakes being made, exploration of superpowers, violence, superheroics, cheaty power combos, arrogance, struggle.

This is a truly fantastic story!  It is one of the best LitRPG stories that I have ever read with excellent world building, unique characters, and a compelling plot.  It just drags you in and makes you want to keep going. It is certainly worth reading.  I cannot recommend this enough.

A fun little portal alien zombie invasion strory told from the perspective of a high school cheerleader!
Hey hey!  Ho ho!  Alien zombies got to go!
For me it's a guilty pleasure, like eating cookies.
Editing is good, not catching much in the way of mispellings and such, though referring to boys as "brunet" is a bit different for me, and using "leagues" as distance measurement is rather indeterminate.

Honestly I was going into this expecting something completely different. Superhero novels are usually pretty cringy or filled with holy than thou BS I have no time for. This novel is filled with action, great LitRPG, and good grammar for the most part. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone that likes to watch a character just beat the shit out of things.

The way that worldbuilding and powers are done in this setting is extremely unique and compelling. The author has clearly thought a lot about it, and made a system that I haven't seen anywhere else, while making a lot of sense and leaving a lot of room open for cool things.
The premise starts out as a relatively straightforward system apocalypse, though it manages to set itself apart in several ways.
    Technically near perfect, would recommend.

I am really enjoying the story so far! the way it's written, the plot, the interactions, all of it from her heavily opinionated point of view(clearly further flavored by her Ego) makes this a real treat to read, although I am hoping she won't keep neglecting certain attributes in the long term, looking forward to seeing where you'll take this.

Great story,, well written. My only complaint is that the mc completely neglected the luck stat.
Filler words are needed because simple concise reviews are not allowed for what ever inexplicable reason royal road forces a fifty word requirement upon us poor unfortunate reviewers who would rather not ramble on.

Started reading at work as a way to pass time between emails and have binged it since. Currently on the waiting for new chapters to come out weekly list after 2 days. Writing style is great, vary few spelling mistakes and keeps you on your toes. It was a quick transition into action from the first chapter and has yet to let it slip at all, vary little slow pace scenes yet still build background on the main character.

This is one of the most unique system apocalypse stories I've read, and I've read a lot! In particular, the way power sets function is done really well. The system manifests a power set and progression unique to each person. That has been done before but this story executes it extremely well in my opinion.
Style: The author's style is generally very good, balancing the different story components well, keeping it engaging without resorting to unnecessary cliffhangers. Some room for improvement in how we see the people and world around the mc. The descriptions feel a little bit shallow to me, making it hard to visualise her in her world. I would be hard pressed to narrow down why though, generally very well done!
Story: As I started saying above, the story is a solid take on the system apocalypse trope, building up to a more meaningful origin than the classic 'system spreading through the universe for some vague reason'. Love the diversity of powers, enemies and battles.
Grammar: The writing is well polished, easy to read with a good balance of vocabulary without overly complex language. I don't think I've spotted any errors so far, which is unusual.
Character Score: I'm enjoying the main character arc, her mindset and power set mesh well to create a character you can understand. The other characters are also solid. A diverse group of people, all with their own unique power set, motivations and personalities. A little bit of room for improvement in how her interactions with the other characters feel. If I was to guess why I thought that, it may have been the amount of time given to the MC's internal thought process. It makes interactions feel a bit shallow. For example, she constantly refers to Mandy as her best friend, but I don't have a good sense of whether that friendship is reciprocated.
All in all, very minor critiques for what is currently one of my favourite developing stories. Looking forward to seeing how the it develops!

This is a wonderful addition to both the Supper Hero and Litrpg genres, the characters are well defined, the setting is both fantastical, and yet strangely grounded, and the numbers go up in creative and entertaining ways without dominating the entirety of the story.
I cant recommend it enough, if you have any interest in either genre this book is well worth your your time, and attention, it certainly captivated mine from the first chapter on, I hardly could put it down for the three days it took me to finish.

I've gotten addicted to this story and it's just getting started. So far it's been nonstop action and it's been done marvelously. I'm always interested in the fights, as well as the mechanics the author has created for the MCs skills. There are a few skills that can be used creatively and that you need to stop and think about their versatility, which really relieves how boring many litRPG skills can be.
Authors style is my favorite part so far, things flow smoothly and concisely while holding my interest.
Story is in the beginning stages and I've only seen the tip of the iceberg as far as the invasion goes, but I'm excited to see more. It's a litRPG, but there are enough unique aspects that keep things from being stale. I've not see something quite like this before, as far as varying powers go, but I'll withhold potential spoilers.
I don't remember seeing any major grammatical errors that have broken my immersion. Cheers author!
Again, it's the early story, not many characters have had time to be introduced or fully fleshed out, but I've love what I've seen so far with Maya, the MC. She's decisive and mature, maybe not what you'd expect from a 17 year old but I'm willing to suspend disbelief to have a character I can root for. She makes mistakes and learns from them, never conveniently forgetting past blunders for the sake of creating conflict. It's one of my pet peeves and I'm so glad it's not here! Maya is obviously new to the world of superpowers and monsters and it shows, but she's smart enough to learn quick and acknowledge mistakes.
Altogether, it's an exciting new story and I'm hopeful for the future.
