I honestly miss our mc and the world he lives in.
the character building and the relationship growth is natural and perfect. Put in the awesome, well defined fights, and this is a must read - InbetweenactionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0After having had it as a five star for a long time, I guess it is time to get back to giving it a proper review before another reread.
The style. Very unique style, the politics of this superhero world is very decently thought through with laws that almost make about as much sense as some that exist in the world today. Evil ish supercorp is building sentient bio weapons for god reasons for evil corps, and cover up its escape for other good reasons(hint: its cash. But the reason for it being so valuable makes sense) , economy makes sense, politics makes about as much sense as politics do. Infrastructure makes a surprisingly large amount of sense. Even the giant monster ruling the city neighbouring the one in our story takes place in makes sense.
Story: escaped superweapon trying to blend into the crowd, and makes friends. After all who doesn't like the guys from r/totallynotrobots. Although he keeps getting a sader and sader past among his friends "did you know sodas came in different flavours? Mind. Blown."
Grammar : excellent. We all blame weird structure on the mc.
Characters : the characters are excellent. The mc learning to fitt in is a wonderful thing that he does with out anyone thinking aaaaaaanything is off with the weird murderous goffball.
The rest of the cast is also solid. Daughters of known villains and students trying to make enough to pay for college all take up henshing for their own in character reasons.
Only flaw is that there is not enough of it yet. - MarkezzRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is great novel. I love everything about this . Everyhing has been said in other reviews already. The only flaw i think people might find is lack of bigger plot, mc has no clear goal or direction he just goes with the flow and tries to survive but it is understandable because he is a bioweapon who just came out of a lab. In conclusion this is second highest rated novel of all time on this site for a reason
- Phan_Of_WafflezRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly, this story has everything that makes a fiction amazing. Unique and memorable characters with emotional depth/growth. An awesome plotline that stays consistent and does not lose steam partway through. Interesting narraration and world-building elements that make for a very entertaining read. In my opinion this story would make an incredible anime.
- SuperScienceGuyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a good story if you enjoy slice-of-life occasionally intermingled with high-stakes escapades, contemplation of what a human is from a definitely non-human perspective, and food. Especially tofu.
I personally enjoyed this story because it was fun and interesting exploring a world that is refreshingly new and yet familiar through the eyes of a pile of goo. It is highlighted by other interesting characters who share their own, unique viewpoints on life. In fact, contemplation of new information is one of the bread and butter of this story for me.
It is a lot like Worm in a way, except this story doesn't feel quite as grimdark as that one did. More like a light-hearted comedy. Even if people do get their brains removed.
If any of the above sounded interesting, give it a read. I am sure it won't dissapoint. - YesorNoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The character introduction is done wonderfully with the MC gradually learning stuff and evolving. The side characters are crafted with care and introduced with similar amount of thought as the MC.
It has a great flow as well.
A great addition to any library. - RoboRoyoRoaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very much a "Stranger in a Strange Land," the main character gradually grows into an ironic contrast to other super powered individuals. The author provides a very fun cast of characters that earn the readers' interest and even affection. A strong and succesful attempt is made at helping the main character evolve into a more powerful individual in order to keep up with life's increasing challenges. World building is done piecemeal, without it distracting from the plot, character development and is intentionally both funny and grim.
Highly addictive! Even if the author has put this story on Hiatus, it's an epic 50 chapters of character growth and world building. Keep a lookout for the author's new work.
"Advanced Reviews must be at least 200 words long", so I've padded this updated review in order to comply with new rules. This text is irrelevent compliance with a rule. Yet amazingly, I'm still getting this message that there aren't enough words, because there's really nothing else that I want to say. I like rectangles, like all normal humans. Also, nobody can tell me I need to lose weight, my body mass is precious to me. I don't understand what is happening, this review has gone way over 200 words, yet the dreaded message continues to appear when I attempt to update the review to recognize that the author has put writing the story on hiatus. - Sk1lz3rRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was one of the first stories I ever read. I remember when the cover art was just four heads with one of them being different from the other three.
This is one of the, if not THE best stories I've read on this website so far. I'd liken it akin to The Perfect Run on levels of amazingness.
All I can say, is that I am SO stoked the story is resurrected, and you should be too. - RedPineRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Most fictions star good, civilized protagonists that inexplicably become evil over time. Super Minion is the opposite. He starts out as a literal inhuman killing machine, but slowly becomes more 'good', but only because being civilized is a survival advantage.
Kind of like a Frieren Demon if they weren't addicted to murder.
So far his body count is ~3 relatively good combatants caught up in a misunderstanding, ~6 criminals who were jerks but not murderous, but over a dozen hardened serial killers that would have killed hundreds (more) if they'd gotten the chance.
So, on net, good enough to root for, but not good enough to not warrant indefinite arrest and/or babysitting, and liable to switch to 'pure evil' the moment external factors render altruism 'inefficient' or 'risky.'
Maybe that will change, but so far the trend is that the MC deletes any emotion that could result in self reflection, so that's unlikely. The best he can manage is being good because it's less risky, and there being non-destructive ways to get what he wants.
Writing is entertaining, especially conversations, pacing, humor, physical humor, and the varied povs. Worldbuilding feels solid. Pretty much every character other than the mc (who is just entertaining) is both entertaining and good enough to root for. - darkocean (J. L. S.)Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story is really unique and pulls you in right away but I dropped it at chapter 16 as the "Talking Heads Syndrome” (Or called Vanishing Setting Syndrome) was getting too hard to ignore.
I hope the writer reads this article:
https://www.helpingwritersbecomeauthors.com/most-common-mistakes-series-case-of/
And, fixes the problem. (I do this too sometimes it's just easier to get all the dialogue out first and then slowly add in everything else in later edits.
It's just that right now all that "empty" is too distracting for me. I'll put this on follow can come back later.
Pretty much the problem is solved using props like having them sit at a table, play with their hair, feel the grass under their feet, see hear, taste all that jzz. Think of it as when you make a painting you put the backdrop on first then the people over that, so add the "backdrop."
Yes, do read this is so original and fun, a non-human protagonist take on things with really great characterizations.
