Description

What would you do with all the power in the world?

Caleb has had the worst of life thrown at him over and over and over again. And now he's found out he's got lung cancer. Stage four. Inoperable. He's only got roughly three months to live.

But when he's suddenly whisked away by some system to another world along with two or so million others, he's given a second chance at life. With a record, the ability to get XP, level up and use magic, he can maybe, just maybe, find a cure to his cancer.

But in this new world of magic, there's tons of evil too. Evil monsters, even eviler people, some really, really, evil world destroying villains and the constantly looming threat of total annihilation from a couple of evil sentient galaxy destroying entities just as powerful as the system that grants him all his strength.

And there’s not a single hero anywhere to be found.

So hey, if he can cure his cancer, why not become one? The universe needs a shining beacon of hope and being a hero can't be that hard, right?

What to expect:

- Progression that won’t be completely linear, will instead come in moments of introspection and “enlightenment”.

- Written in 3rdPerson.

- The story gets dark in tone at points.

Inspired by Super Supportive, Worm, and The Five Kingdoms series.

I think is is my first review, so take that as you will.
But this is f***ing amazing, the pace and flow are perfect. The character interaction, continuity, reactions, and dialogue feel natural.
Even the intended gaps of information feel warranted and make sense.
This take on a tutorial is brutal but fair in more ways than expected, even with some scary slip ups.
Everytime there was an inkling of what I assumed what would happen, I was proven wrong and my expectations grew.
The MC feels a bit generic at first and a few times I wished he did a bit more. However as I had a small list of complaints, as I learned more about him I realized this was a compliment notna flaw.
He isnt a Mary Sue, he fucks up, gets fucked up, but he makes a difference when it matters the most in his own way. And not conveniently. He's a piece of a quickly thrown together puzzle and he's not leading it so far.
Its 2 am and I'll  probably find a way to be more coherent about this review later.
But do yourself a favor and take sip of this. You wont regret it.
