- DarkodiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story have elements of mystery, survival, and character dynamics written in a fun to read way. The author did well in building tension through Daniel's confusion about his sudden return to a past he thought he had left behind, while also introducing familiar faces and relationships that added depth to the narrative. The interactions between the characters was well written, and the unfolding of their situation kept me engaged and wanting to know more. The story does a very good job in seamlessly blending elements of fantasy, magic, and survival, creating a vivid and engaging world for the reader to explore. The attention to detail in describing the protagonist's thoughts, actions, and surroundings helped to immerse me in the story, making it feel like I was right there with Daniel as he navigated through the challenges that he face, and faced off in his fight, such as against those goblins. The character development and strategic decision-making added depth to the narrative, keeping me invested in Daniel's journey and eager to see how he would overcome the obstacles in his path. Overall, it was a good read that left me eager to learn more about Daniel's adventures and the world he inhabits.
- One Way JusticeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story: Daniel is a compelling protagonist pretty much from the start because you see him struggling to come to grip with the new reality of his surroundings... the disorientation that is felt by him (and others) is just a cool hook to get you to care about Daniel. Then when he gets a missing limb back (invitation from the past, I feel) things really go crazy because he’s forced to pick between either the new status quo or a return in some form (but with more information) to a past that was not always kind to him... an interesting conundrum and a great start to a plot.
Characters: Daniel has a lot of internal conflict going... he is introspective as well as in the outside world; a complete person (vs cardboard characters in some lesser novels). He is smart and has a knack for strategic thinking (love when MCs have that!) and so the fights he is in are always interesting to read. Also, he fights goblins at one point, and I love goblins. And the side characters show a soft, normal side to Daniel when he interacts with them—definitely room for deeper connections here!
Style: A good writing style with decent prose and good attention to pacing.
Grammar: Good. No complaints. - SkarabraeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The story's style is incredible. The word choice and unique way of writing help build up the exact feel the writer wants the audience to have. Additionally, the literary technique of imagery is used to great effect. You get a really good picture of what's going on from it.
Story: The story is incredibly interesting. It is slow-paced, but it develops as it needs to with that pace and its slow pace isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it works very well for this story. The story itself is about someone traveling from the end of their Isekai adventure back to the start. It does a very good job of conveying how this would affect the character and what he does with this second chance.
Grammar: I only found 1 grammatical error, and this should be fixed by now.
Character: The main character is very much multi-faceted. He is realistic, given his situation, well-developed, and three-dimensional. I can say the same for most of the side characters too. Not much time is spent with them, but they still manage to be well-developed. Not all of the side characters are like that, but enough are to deserve this rating. - VyStarlitRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is still in the beginning but what I read is really fun. I really like stories where the character gets to relive their life and this one didn't disappoint. I like the aspect that the MC can't actually tell people that he time traveled due to a restriction placed on him. The hints of the side-characters make me curious about them and the current cliffhanger for the latest chapter had me thinking how the MC was going to get out of the situation.
I really like the main character as well. He's a loner but instead of being the normal selfish prick he actually wants the people around him to survive. It was refreshing. I look forward to reading more of this story. - XtraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easy Read, tension is very good. Keeps you excited and captivated to keep reading and learning more about the world and what will happen. Very well written and the pacing is very good. Highly recommend giving this book a read. it is fun and enjoyable. The conflicts are interesting and have a lot of depth and lots to explore.
- ZephyriumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just finished reading the first chapter. Gotta say that this has one of the best premises I've read in a story so far.
Grammar is good, great even. Current plot and world building is spot on. Characters are well thought out from what I can understand from only the 1st chapter. And the 1st chapter is more than interesting and cryptic enough (information wise) for you to want to read and know more.
I'll be leaving an advanced view at a later date when many more chapters are available. But for now? Easy five stars. Can't wait to see what's to come! - ohRomeoRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm currently about to start chapter 12. My only problem will it so far is that the pacing feels a bit slow for my liking.
I both enjoy and dislike how logical the side characters are. It's a breath of fresh air but at the same time I'm not used to side characters being so smart. - hawlolRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I won't judge the story and characters since I've read only a few chapters, but the fact the writing made me angry was enough for a review.
For every MC action there are several monologues that will explain why he did said action, what he would do if he was his former self from the past, what will he do next and what consequences this action might bring, and last why he won't do other things because of what consequences these other things might bring.
Sometimes he just infodumps as well, but even the infodumps are more interesting than the alternatives.
It kills the pacing and makes the story a chore to read. The chapters are long in terms of word count but very little happens in terms of plot or worldbuilding.
He just knows all magic and rituals instead of gaining them through the system and little to nothing is said about the magic. Even though theres a LITRPG, it seems like magic comes from studying and not from level, but level gives more mana and general abilities like mana sense and mana control which he already could do before getting the class. So no classes will give any kind of skills/ability/magic other than generic passive ones? What's their point then? Just stats?
That was my experience with the first chapters: reading the MC's excessive internal monologues while he killed some random mobs with magic he knew from the past, wondering how unecessary the LITRPG system was. - SandyManManRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Very standard premise
the chapters definitely have some girth to them, but not a whole lot actually happens
It seems like a story with superficial characters with MC getting more and more OP (which would be ok with me), but the author keeps going back to the well with dialogue where people keep repeating themselves. Very little depth to the rest of the characters yet they are given the spotlight. - ShadowKnight6992Royal Road★★ 2.0First the grammar is good and there are no immersion breakers pertaining to grammar.
the plot is……okay? It was going well but then the war torn veteran went into a grade school tantrum and immediately got himself cornered and blackmailed and is forced to give away his knowledge within the first 20ch so the plot is kinda messed up and I’m dropping it
the side characters are okay, but wow they just all the stereotypes of a Tv school classroom mushed into a group of 40 people. Popular girl, nerd, streamer, jock, etc it’s just all of them mushed together
the Mc is an anchor in a bad way and is very flimsy to the authors whims, like one second he’s in a battlefield next he’s regressed so what’s the Mc like?
Well of course and obviously very tactical in his mindset making HD illusions of himself with decently advanced magic just so he can hunt and even then he scry’s over whatever target he’s hunting.
Then he’s having a meltdown over one guy when he should be worried about LITERAL DEMON GODS and throws all his knowledge and experience in the gutter only to be immediately punished into giving away his future knowledge and magic also on top also is blackmailed into submission within 20ch
so no, I’m dropping this
