You really get the feeling of a run-down small town, that slight depression, the feeling that nothing is happening or going to happen to improve the town.
The hook was there, the chance meeting and vague memory.
Now all it needs is more words (and a middle and an end, the things I always struggle with!)
I hope you keep writing.
