Luck appears to be on his side, however, as a girl with her own agenda comes to his aid. Armed with the superpower to alter and improve any technology with just a touch, the two enter a three-way stalemate between the embodiment of death itself, a worldwide organization of religious zealots, and a woman who fancies herself a Goddess.
In a world rampant with superpowers, criminal organizations, and questionable authorities, Maxis will quickly learn that a cruel world will only breed crueler people.

- BerciTheBeastRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just binged this and the Patreon chapters in the last 2 days. The story has me hooked, and even though there are some spelling mistakes every once in a while, I am enjoying this a lot.
Personally, I would love to read some more about how, when, and why powers grow, so I and my fellow readers can speculate a bit more. - DaddydivineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This a wildly good superhero story. It feels like a well thought out comic book universe. Although the characters are not the most heroic they do have some very heroic moments. Most Superhero novels on the RR seem very contrived to involve some sort of system and fantasy into the story. String feels very organic with the most minimalistic approach to the litrpg genre. In fact, the litrpg aspect is easily forgotten. The world building, the hero and villain names, and the plot all feel inspired. It's crazy, but lucky, that i was able to find this story after the first book was already completed.
As for grammar, well considering my review probably has more errors than the first book alone, I'm not the best judge. The writing does more than enough to keep me engaged and if there are any grammar issues i'm usually too focused on the story to care. - DoorshoesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I found this story recently and read all chapters on RR right now in three days. This is great story and I hope to keep reading as it releases.
The power system is excelente(though I would like to know more about the different classifications), and the characters are well written. If you want a superhero story your not going to find many better than this one on this site. - Draxen BetaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's still relatively early so there's no big chunk of story I can sink my teeth into, but what is there certainly merits some attention. I've definitely got some Worm-vibes from it, but it's different as well and I'm looking forward to seeing how it further distinguishes itself in the superhero fiction genre.
Characters so far have been great and have left me wanting to see more interactions between each other. I can see the author setting down the foundations, fleshing out the different personalities and the world around them. The powers are mostly a mystery at the moment, though we have seen a few at work, mostly the MC's. His abilities have an extremely high potential, especially if given some time to really get going.
Grammar and Spelling mistakes were few and far between and the prose didn't throw 17 paragraph blocks of text at me for exposition which I appreciate. The whole process has been refreshingly organic, and I eagerly await more content. - GronchioRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have followed this story since the first few chapters that were published here because of my love for superhero novels, and from all of the novels I’ve read this is surely one of the best.
I waited for the story to go on for a few months before reviewing it to see if the quality kept being consistent and surprisingly it was, the author cares for the details of the story and its characters.
The chapters are fairly long and exciting, all the characters are different from each other and interesting in the way that they interact with the various factions.
All in all it’s a really good read and its astonishing that this is not one of the most read novels on this site. - IsTiredAndNeedsToPoopRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was a much better read than I thought it would be. It should be way higher in the rankings. Go read it.
The summary / blurb gives a good idea about what to expect from this story, but I can say that the quality is way better than the average for this site.
I really liked that the author managed to create multiple teenage characters that posses a believable amount of naivety, but are not foolish. - JesustorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just 2 chapters in but a good read so far, maybe he is not the most intelligent/logical MC but he is a teenager with recent superpowers so it's understandable, and even then he made good plans from the beginning in case things went wrong.
The power of the MC is interesting, and the grammar is also good, if the quality doesn't drop I expect this to be one of the top novels on this website.
Thx for the novel! :D - Ralph CerchioneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0String has been a great superhero story. Maxis has a truly formidable crafting ability, but that doesn't resolve any of his problems easily, when it does so at all.
Instead, you get a believable progression in which he starts out very much over his head, makes a critical ally with her own agenda and keeps figuring out his abilities and adding or upgrading equipment to his arsenal.
Doing this in the early chapters is impressive but easier, but the author keeps the suspense going even as Maxis becomes personally far more powerful.
He's constantly going from being a small fish in a small pond to a small fish in a much bigger pond as he goes from a back-alley deal to surviving one dangerous gang's vendetta to fighting their incredibly powerful leader. Meanwhile, the scope of his team's operations changes also, as they add new members, take and lose territory, and become pawns and enemies of various greater players.
Including major global powers. - SlappaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The MC's power is great, and yet he's a realistic sort of person with realistic issues, at least when viewed through the lens of his world at large. Speaking of, the world truly is incredible, with a myriad of inventive powers, unique but not outlandish or impossible societal structures, and intriguing plot points! Give it a whirl!
- benisbuddyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pleasantly surprised with how effectively the first few chapters were at hooking me to the premise, your story built an excellent foundation with inspired superpowers that are tailored well to the characters that use them. Glad I took a chance with something that normally isn't up my wheelhouse with this.
Hope to see Max fleshed out further and what you have cooking for this going forward.
