Description

Edwin Morris has been playing Sakarn Online almost his whole life, in fact, most people have. While he considers himself a skilled player, he never could really find the time to take his game to the next level and pay the bills. After he is finally pushed over the edge with his job at Burger Planet, Edwin stumbles upon a man representing a game company called Stratus Labs.

Edwin is offered a lucrative position within the company to test and beat Stratus Online, an incredible, fully-immersive MMO designed to dethrone Sakarn Online. Edwin will have to unite with his friends and compete against other teams, but not everything is as it seems within Stratus Labs and the stakes are much higher than he could have ever imagined.

With the clock ticking, will Edwin have what it takes to complete the seemingly insurmountable task of beating Stratus Online before it's too late?

It's a nice typical setting. Poor boy and similarly poor friends get hired by VR Game Company to play their game.
It all sounds too good to be true, and it probably is, but we're not that far yet.
The background building is well done, characters are fleshed out though not unique so far, style is good and grammar is pretty readable albeit it does have spelling and word mistakes at times.
Only thing I'd put in as critique would be the more or less slow pacing. It is not slow per se but I'm at chapter 12 and it looks like the main story is about to start now finally. Though since it is in book format I'd say the pacing is still ok.
    Overall a good read.

I'm just gonna get these out of the way; style and grammar is great. I didn't need to read a word or a sentence twice for any reason. Everything is easy to understand.
Characters; This could have been better but it's good enough I guess. How much the characters are described and how well they are described are definitely above average.
Story; Hmm, here we go;(this is the part where I rant by the way)
Anyway, my rant is about this novel being a VRMMORPG novel. I hate it when a really good author wastes his time and skills on a VRMMORPG novel. What do I mean by that? Well think about it. It's Virtual Reality. Which means, there is absolutely no danger to MC and this obviously takes away all the suspense that was built up until that point in the story.
At chapter (I believe) 8 or maybe 7 and chapter 10, there are foreshadowings warning us and the protagonist about the abnormality of this new "game". When you see the first one, you don't think much about it. It doesn't seem like it's anything dangerous since what happened is very logical (((spoiler: A.I. being able to read his memory and design the game events, names of places and people suited to his memory))) despite being a bit creepy. But then at chapter 10 our MC gets another warning which he disregards. Weid thing is, I don't even blame him for disregarding a suspicous warning about the suspicous company when normally that would be the point in the story I would start raging and flaming the author in the comments. So why didn't I rage and flame the author this time? Because, this is a VR novel! I mean when you stop and think about it for a few seconds, you realize that all the suspense author is creating is absolutely meaningless. I mean, what could happen to MC even if the new VR game he is going to start playing is something suspicous and dangerous? Kill him? Well it's a game, it obviously can't kill him and even if he could they wouldn't and couldn't. They wouldn't because there is no reason to do so, they coul
