Stranded in a Magical World with my Lightsaber (A Star Wars Story)

Description
I’ve spent years running—from the Empire, from my past, from what I am. Every time I settle, they find me. Every time I let someone in, it costs me.
They think I’m a Jedi. That’s why they hunt me. But I’m not exactly a Jedi.
I’ve bled for Sith. I’ve fought beside Jedi. I’ve walked through light and shadow and came out something else entirely—an Acolyte of the Force. No code. No master. Just survival.
When everything fell apart, I crashed on a planet the galaxy doesn't know about. Elasier. No starships in the sky. No Empire. Just swords, sorcery, kingdoms, and something they callmana. It feels like the Force—but it isn’t.
This place is raw, untamed. Magical. Dangerous. And for the first time in a long time... free.
Maybe I can start over here. Blend in with the adventurers. Carve out a life in a world that doesn’t care who I used to be.
Maybe here... I don’t have to run anymore.
Maybe, I can finally live the peaceful life I've always dreamed of.

- writingshare123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hi! I'm new, and I've been following this story on Wattpad and Royal Road, and I've since came here just to review this book. It's a good book - well thought out, and a lot of hard work has gone into this. Yes, I know the author - an amazing person, but he didn't force me to write this.
The thing with this book is that it goes from a complicated Star Wars universe with ehh interest (I'm new to Star Wars) and dives into a beautifully written story with a masterpiece ending. It's quite simply interesting - my brain melted in the beginning, but then after the crash, bam, it's like something had waken up and the plot started to gain the kind of shimmer that only the best have. Yes, I admit, there are some things that could be improved (such as the fact he does seems almost like the typical hero), but I'll skip on that with the excuse that the book was trying to follow the nature of isekai.
Ryu is a complex person. With a past that starts to unravel in front of the reader and himself, we start to learn more about him as time goes on. His secrets, his skill. The reader is one step away from falling in love with his character; how could you not when you have to revel in the determination that man got?
He's not perfect - just like human beings.
Then the other characters: they are full of depth, emotion, and overall, pretty much unique. I won't go into details for the sake of spoilers, but I do feel that some more layers could be added - backstories for the characters. However, I did enjoy the presence of the droids (I loved the droids), and they were beautifully crafted with personalities that shine.
Now, I get it. It got flaws. And yet, I'm giving it 5 stars. Why? Because once you finish it, you beat yourself up on why you spent so much time just dragging the book. It leaves you captivated; spellbound, and mystified. And honestly, it does help to look up some Star Wars terminology for visuals and concepts.
All in all, this author also did an amazing job tying together two - Faedin V.Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I didn’t really know what to expect when I started this, but I got pulled into it fast. The story feels like it belongs in the Star Wars universe, although it still has its own tone. It’s clearly fanfiction, though in a way that feels thoughtful and grounded. Instead of jumping from action scene to action scene, it spends more time on the characters and how they feel.
Ryu starts off as the usual ex-Jedi type, but as things go on, you begin to understand him better. His bond with Lyra works well, and it doesn’t feel forced. Even the droids come across as real characters. Apollo especially stood out to me, since his dry humor adds something nice to the group.
The worldbuilding works quietly in the background. There’s no long explanations, but the scenes are clear. The space station, the hangar, and the Star Destroyer all feel real without being too dramatic. You can imagine what it looks like and how it feels without needing every little detail explained.
One thing I really liked is how it didn’t pretend everyone’s a hero. Ryu doesn’t always win, messes up, loses people and so on. He reacts like a person would and ths makes it feel more human.
It’s not perfect, but it’s not trying to be. And honestly, that makes it better.
Good work! - J. A. PowersRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I sat down yesterday and started reading this fanfic thinking it'd just be another fan service to the greatness that is Star Wars. Unfortunately, I found I wasn't really wrong, the first parts of the story indeed feel similar to other Star Wars novels I've read. It was worth reading so I figured I'd give it a bit more, then the main character gets to Elasier, and everything changes. The characters he encounters feel like they just have more depth, range of emotion, and I started to like some of them (I'm looking at you BBEG). The relationships he fosters feel real and inspired. Was a blast to read, thank you for writing it!
- MichaelMcDoesntExistRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I went in with an empty mind and no big expectations. The concept is what got my attention. Overall an interesting story. I'm not a fan of long chapters and I do appreciate the author splitting the chapters into parts. The book is easy to follow and the story was fun to read. It's not the most groundbreaking story but to me it was a great story and easy to follow. I highly recommend it despite the long chapters.
The characters weren’t bland, one sided notes, the mc wasn’t some edgelord who lacks emotion and the side characters had their own fun quirks. I won’t go into spoilers but my favorite character is the one introduced in the either 7th or 8th chapter and I just adored them.
The descriptions were so on point for me, I was able to visualize the settings. I was lost maybe a few times and for a book this big hats off to you author. I just wished more of the other kingdoms were explored, not just the two in this story but I still found them really cool and breathtaking.
I also like that the villain isn’t some misunderstood demon lord or just an evil demon lord who hates all humans. I won’t go into further detail for future readers but I really liked the villain. I felt the tension and what was at stake with that villain and the stakes were high.
Overall a really fun book with interesting characters and a great villain. The settings are fun and feel magical, the plot is easy to follow, the action scenes are brutal and really good. I highly recommend this story. - Nemo BlancRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story rips. It’s basically if you mashed up The Mandalorian, Firefly, and some high-level Force lore that isn’t just Jedi/Sith rehashes. August Sinclair, sorry, Ryu Chikara, is a smuggler with a hidden past, and the reveal that he’s a rogue Force user walking the line between light and dark is chef’s kiss. The pacing hits that perfect serial adventure rhythm: dream-sequence mystery, cozy ship-life moments, market drama, then straight-up saber-fueled chaos in the finale.
Stylistically, it’s clean and cinematic. The action scenes are tight and visceral, especially the cargo bay fight. You feel the chaos, blaster fire, smoke, and the hum of that yellow lightsaber. Dialogue is mostly strong, especially the banter between August and Lyra (she’s a standout: sarcastic, smart, believable). IG-22 is comedy gold, and Willo’s like if Hondo Ohnaka and a mechanic uncle had a baby.
That said, the grammar’s not flawless, some comma splices and run-ons sneak in, and tense shifts (especially between narration and memory) get a bit wobbly. The emotional beats are sometimes a bit on-the-nose, especially in the galley scene, less show and more tell. But for a fanfic or first-chapter of a serial? This thing sings. It knows what it is and it owns it.
If you love Force lore beyond the binary, and if you like stories where the world’s gritty but the people still care deeply about each other (and sip caf while dodging pirates), give this a shot. It’s not perfect, but it’s sincere and honestly, I’d board the Crucible for the next chapter in a heartbeat. - ArguroRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Here is 5 stars cause I dont really care about the star system.
I advise the readers to give it a try I really enjoyed this story so far.
If you are not into very long and tedious flashbacks you may want to skim so chapters at some point.
Overall this is not the fiction of the century but it is very likable. - VectorFisherRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The writing style so far (as of IV part I) feels very similar to ai written content. This has to be ai assisted at the very least. There are short parts of the chapters that have a real person feel to the writing but so much of it is in the typical ai style with its stilted weirdness that the story is hard to get into for me. I love the idea, and I think it has great potential. If I’m being fair, the writing quality could improve greatly as time goes on, I will just have to read this story in smaller doses until that happens.
- musashiohRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I dont know if it is AI generated or what but there are too many illogical actions and inconsistencies.
Am example. He turns down a huge reward and then a few paragraphs later says he needs to make some money.
The action is really good, I just wish everything made more sense.
