Discovering the entrance to ancient ruins behind a waterfall, traversing the lightless labyrinth contained within and reaching the forgotten tomb located at its end seemed like more than enough of an adventure for one day.

But it wasn't until the young mage who accomplished all of this stepped foot inside said tomb that the real adventure truly began.

...about a lightning elemental that our MC accidentally releases from a thousand years of imprisonment. Following that are mostly light-hearted slice-of-life moments (I have not read to the end yet, though). The grammar and wording are perfectly fine. I would not have any complaints were it an actual book. The interactions between the socially inept magician girl and the spirit are very sweet.

So, to be clear, this story is of the found girlfriend variety, particularly, rescuing her lightning elemental ass from a tomb of imprisonment. The girl latches onto the protagonist (who is also a girl, though often mistaken for a boy), and she kind of takes her home. Shenanigans happen, mostly of the cute fluff or social ineptitude variety.
