An interesting little short story about a stick and a problem child. The prose and pacing is decent, though it is possible to infer that the boy is autistic or has some other issue given what happens in the middle. The story doesn't have all the answers and things play out, but the rather dissociative structure of the narrative makes it all the more confusing because as reader's we want answers and it is not really providing them.
