Recession, layoffs, and rapid AI adoption made it a tough year for graduates in Australia. As a recent graduate, I was ready to take any job after facing countless rejections. So, accepting a job through an ad outside of Australia was an easy decision. The job was risky—but so what? The fate of thousands of Earthlings who ended up on the Ithirian slave-trader’s spaceship was the usual fate of slaves—until, by sheer luck, they were freed and given a chance in the Cyrvonn Dominion. The Cyrvonn Dominion treated freed slaves and refugees the same: serve in the army, the fleet, or… become a miner!
