When a falling star strikes the Endwood and burns the wicked briars that has kept humanity out since time immemorial, the vengeful forest retaliates against any and all percieved threats. To understand this new world now available to them, the nation of Carlea establishes the Outrider Corps to investigate, catalogue or neutralize anything deemed worthy of such. However, the Endwood isn't all ravening beasts and murky corners, and the humans might have to learn to get along with creatures that previously existed only in their childhood fairytales if they want to understand and stop the real threats that are brewing in the dark.
