Description

Meet Dani and Wulfram, two people from very different worlds. Dani is a thief, scraping by in the slums of Aurum, while Wulfram lives the life of luxury in the palace above the city. They never would have met, except for one stupid mistake that brought their worlds colliding together. Now they're bound to each other, for better or worst. But as Wulfram sets people to work trying to undo the magical bond, secrets kept for years rise to the surface, and people work against the pair in the shadows.

What to expect:

This story has two main characters: Dani and Wulfram. The narrative alternates between Dani's and Wolfram's points of view, with odd chapters featuring Dani and even chapters featuring Wolfram. The story will introduce other characters in their own chapters, but this will be rare. We will post these extra chapters beyond the normal update schedule.

The story hooks us from the start with vivid descriptions that perfectly complement the action, creating an immersive and well-balanced experience. I was supposed to read only the first three chapters but that wasn't enough for me.
Since the beginning the narrative manages to combine dark aspects with light and comical moments, which are already evident from the very first chapter. The author handles foreshadowing very well, throwing subtle winks at the reader that arouse curiosity for what is to come.
As a non-native English speaker, I can say that I had no difficulty reading the story. The writing is clear and accessible, which made the reading especially smooth and enjoyable.
The main characters are one of the highlights for me. Dani, with a life marked by hardship, is cynical and distrustful, although she preserves a tenderness that she tries to hide. On the other hand, Walfrun, despite growing up in privilege, has a deep awareness of his responsibilities and empathy for the hardships of others. The interactions between the two are amusing and, as the protagonists of a romantic fantasy story, feel refreshing and original.
Overall, this story promises a captivating combination of action, drama and memorable characters that will make you wanting for more.

An Exciting Read - This is a well written and exciting read. The author throws you into the story right from the start with a lovely bit of action. The pace is maintained as we continue and, at least in the first couple chapters, we get a full and comprehensive introduction to the two main characters in an interesting and narrative fashion. I have only read the first three chapters for a review but if I had the time, I would continue reading.
Style - The writing style is what I would describe as smart casual, to wit everything is properly written but it has a certain personal character which I find endearing and helps convey the tone of the piece. And in regards to the tone, or vibes if you will, that aspect of style feels light hatred and fun. I would wager that this is more a light read that can easily be enjoyed than some grimdark fantasy - despite the darker aspects which seem to exist in Dani’s present and past.
Story - The story, at least in the first three chapters, was clearly understood by the author - which means for the reader that there is no dillydallying or preamble. The story knows where it's going and it goes there. That said, I do feel it is lacking in a few loose ends that might link to future chapters but I may be wrong. Very demure, very mindful.
Grammar - No noticeable mistakes in grammar, spelling, or syntax. Reading this is smooth and goes down easy - like your mum… I mean like a good scotch. There are a couple of minor things, which I pointed out, but they don’t break the flow of reading, which is most important in my opinion.
Character - The two main characters are well written and feel real - though there is always the question, when talking about the protagonist’s personality, how much of it is a reflection of the author herself. Authenticity aside, the dynamics between characters is also well presented - particularly the relationship between Therija and Dani - I can see that link being used often in the story going forward.

This story has been such a pleasant surprise! The story pulls you right in with a refreshing blend of suspense, romance, and just the right amount of mystery. The main character is genuinely engaging, with enough depth and charm to make them feel real, and their interactions are so well-crafted that they stay with you long after reading. I also really enjoyed the pacing, no unnecessary fluff, just a steady build that makes you want to keep turning the page. It’s not often you find a story that balances character development and plot twists this well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fresh and full of heart!
