- Dudeman10Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is an interesting read with the way he his sent to the other world being very interesting. The current story is well planned with almost no loopholes. It has a clear vision in sight for what is going to be. All the characters experience growth as people and as a team. World building is pretty good.
- K.A.ORoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a good story. While Alex might be a little lacking in some departments it doesn't detract from the story at all, at least not to me. It makes the story more interesting. I found your novel and I haven't read anything else until now, now that I'm caught up. Great work and I look forward to more.
- StiemzeroRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I normaly leave the chapters to pile up a little so i can binge read in 1 big siting but I just couldn't do that with this story. It kept getting more intresting the interactions between Pi and alex are great and him trying to hide it from the people around him makes it a great part of the story .
- perfectgeneralRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0No sexual content so far. Not that I'm complaining. The plot is good so far. An element of munchkinnery is a welcome bonus. Given the fitness of the cover art model there are plans to get more lasivious in later chapters. More conflict than congress at this stage. Alex is not the SIMPleton they were looking for.
- volcanicMoleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Though I said it was a Deeper Dive into the world of Accidental Summoning this story stands alone and doesn’t require you to have read The Accidental Summoning. It's just that you potentially could get more from the story if you read both. (We've already a cameo of a person (maybe 2).)
Style is hard to discuss, it's Kos' style and I don't find any issues with it. (This is one of three stories of his I'm reading.)
Story: it's a solid story so far, with PoV adding further depth to the story and world.
Grammar: I've not noticed any typos or issues which have thrown me out of the story--that's a win in my book.
Character Score: This is the only category I've not given full marks. (Though 4.5/5 is almost there.) There's something niggly (which I can't quite understand or explain) which is putting me slightly off about the 2 main characters (the MC and their system). Still, that's a slight niggle and isn't putting me off from reading and enjoying the story as a whole.
I do love the character's interaction with their fellow citizens in (and out) of their hometown.
Early days so far, but a solid story, and one I'm enjoying. - KatherinePhillipsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Every chapter reads better than the last! The protagonist seems like a great person and someone you might chill with on the weekends.
Pi seems like a sassy AI and I'm sure we're going to see some very funny situations in the future.
I'm curious to see where the story goes from here and I can't wait for the next one! - MaladyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read this elsewhere so I know a lot more than the "Reviewed At" indicates.
Alex is a nice and ethical protagonist, that works to improve the world he finds himself in, helped by a stroke of luck granting him a stronger starting hand than the house expected. While the house tries to patch his exploits, he keeps using his cards in unexpected ways and finding how the house has gotten complacent in regulating their game.
The house always wins? Not this time! Maybe. - S1qwemRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Spelling and grammar is done well, the writing style reads well, and the initial premise is pretty good. Overall though I’m dropping it, the story direction just isn’t for me and I feel doesn’t live up to the initial promise.
The story is quite slow paced overall, and the numbers really don’t mean or do that much, to the point where they could almost just be dropped, and as the story goes on they become less and less significant (a good thing).
Worldbuilding isn’t really all that well done, it’s somewhat “whatever the story requires”, not too consistent or sensible. It’s not really a built up world, more like a succession of settings and plot devices that are supposed to fit together somehow.
The whole idea of the story is quite original, but the execution doesn’t live up to it, and the tv show subplot often gets somewhat forgotten. I’m actually wishing for a well written book with just the core premise “guy gets isekai’d to be live tv, frustrates producers and sponsors by doing everything wrong” taken in a more lighthearted fashion.
The part of the setting where humans are genociding all other sapient species really doesn’t feel like it fits, it’s not the same tone as the rest of the book. Way too heavy.
The story doesn’t have sexual content itself, but there’s way too much focus on sex for no real reason. Female characters exist mainly as sexual conquests, with little depth beyond that. Relationships don’t build so much as just appear fully formed.
overall, not for me. I found myself skimming a lot and it’s just not for me. - Kanos920Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Style: It's solid, and I love the way that other legends and stories are often used as little Easter eggs. I also enjoy the various monsters and animals that are basically abominations of multiple real animals. It tickles my inner child, lol. I would however like to see more consistency in how the conversations with incoporeal entities and voices are formated. When they go from colored, bracketed, or otherwise specially formated to a dissimilar format in the following chapter, it can be distracting.
Story: I thoroughly enjoy the story, it's flow, pacing, and contents. I have no real critique on it and it hits all the right spots for me given the type of story and it is.
Grammar: This might just be a high standard of mine, but for me this story is largely simply satisfactory in terms of grammar. The typos aren't too common, the phrasing isn't awkward, and there's no concerns with structure. However, it's also not anything I would say is comparatively stand out either. It, simply put, is fine.
Character(s): This is a strong point of the story, and I love most of the characterization. Side characters get plenty of time on screen. The main character is consistent yet affected and influenced. The plot armor that some side characters provide is well placed, consistent with their character and the story l as a whole, and never ham fisted. There are a few exceptions where I feel someone hasn't gotten the depth they deserve, or was used inadequately in their role. In one particular case, all that would be needed is a bit of extra dialogue between the main and supporting characters about another's situation, motivation, and the consequences of the choices available to the cast in light of such would be a massive step up. All in all though I think they have been given real life, and enhance the story with their inclusion rather than just existing within it.
In summary, if you like litrpg fantasy, you can't go wrong giving this a shot. It is a great start if you're just getting - Nomad1791Royal Road★★★ 3.0I'll start with the good. The author writes well everything is easy to read and haven't come across any grammatical mistakes. Now for my rating. I hate the MC like can't stand the guy, at worse he's a idiot with a ton of luck at best he's living some sort of self masturbation fantasy with tons of plot armor. The everything and I mean everything good falls into his lap with zero consequences, he complains about everything like some poiled brat witch to be fair he is, and that's not a defense for his crap actions. I can't even say he has much of a personality everyone feels so stilted, this story frustrates me so much. I can tell the author has talent for writing but yeah this is bad for me. So here's three stars based purely on the fact you can write, you shared something personal like this with the world, and honestly I hope you go far and this is just a stepping stone for you. the two taken away are for the world building and characters lacking any depth. Good luck 👍
