Description

Mystery, unknown, lost. These words have a magical power that attracts only the bravest, greediest, and most ambitious of all. These people came from all corners of the world after it and did not let seas, mountains, or deserts stop them. This desire to search, discover, and explore gave birth to the Age of Discovery, a time of groundbreaking inventions where the world opened up to new dimensions—this time had passed. The people had already searched for everything on Auricia. They had climbed the tops of mountains, traveled through the deepest jungles, crossed vast deserts, and dived to the bottom of the oceans. For them, the world had been thoroughly explored, and there wasn't much left. Journeys into the unknown turned into business trips, expeditions into research, and mysteries into theories. You didn't have to search to find something new; you could hear it on the radio or read it in a newspaper. To learn something new, you didn't have to go on a big adventure but open a book. The world has moved into the modern era.Still, some of the small minority felt the unknown still hiding somewhere in the world, drawing them to it. They weren't content to ponder it in stuffy men's rooms with their colleagues or to theorize on the pages of their dry research papers. They wanted to see the last wonders of the world with their own eyes. Be it alone or with a group of likewise thinkers, they brought back to life a long-forgotten term that they carried with pride. Those people were adventurers. While their numbers were few and far between, their stories perhaps lost in time in this vast world, it did not stop them from dreaming. Be they a timeless researcher cast out of their home, a man forgotten by the world, or a boy with a dream, they press forward. Against the world. To the stars.

Thank you for reading.

This story is an original work posted here on the Royal Road website. It was available on some sites before, but not anymore. Please let me know if you see it on any other site or under another name.

This is a sort of passion project of mine, a nice hobby that I don't intend to make any money out of as far as I'm concerned. I am quite new to writing but want to improve, so constructive feedback is much appreciated.  I don't know if there's much enjoyment to get out of this due to my lack of skill and perhaps I should have kept this to myself, but I still want to give it out to the world. I would be wholeheartedly content if anyone enjoyed this story or anything about it. Those few smiles would be more than enough. I will keep going, no matter if anyone reads this. Once again, thank you for reading, and I will see you at the end.

Reading this book the first thing I recognized was I had no idea what the heck was going on. I genuinely had to exit back and look to make sure I start on the first chapter instead of in the very middle of the book. It gives off the feeling of i don't know why I'm here but all i knows is to adventure. We are told very little about the characters backstories or even where they're going. We're given names and information that mean nothing to us right now. We don't even know the world around us at the start. The characters and the grammar were very well written and I could tell there was a lot of effort put into this book. I genuinely just have no idea what's going on. Also, the MC is 15 and is trusting some random adult they've never met before?
