Yes, it is. Everything including moral a social principles is there. Really! Just read it!
    Style
Very good. Most of the time I was thinking about, how it would look on screen. Really well thought of. I got the vibe I had when I was watching the series.
    Story
Absolutely perfect start. The first three chapters are superb. Especially the first ones ending and the second one. No wrinkles there. After that I must say the middle chapters are a bit boring, but not too badly to be uninteresting. And the latter chapers again pick up the pace a bit. Really good overall.
    Grammar
I am no native speaker, but I haven't noticed any serious mistakes.
    Characters
Sometimes a bit flat for my tastes, but that is with the style of Star Trek series, so it's OK. But I must mention that the strugle with fear and unknown makes the crew feel like real ordinary people. I also must mention that these dilemas often got me thinking what I would do, if I was in their boots.
Final word. Is it worth reading?
Yes, definitelly. And you don't have to be a hardcore fan to underestand it. (just google unknown terms :D)
