Piggybacking off what the other reviewer at this time said that this is a really fun Firefly like space western story. Lots of action, speaking in well written and familiar Firefly/western slang with drawls and word play. The creativity of the world and tech. mechanics are interesting and believable to both an advanced humanity but with clearly poorer and more rural populations devoid of education and advanced tech. Some have acess to higher levels and it's a driving point for the story to deliver something that might change that. A few EXTREMELY powerful pieces are shown later in very short supply which seem to be important for reasons.

It took me a minute to realize what this was, and that's a Firefly western style sci fi. I went in expecting something of the sort, maybe more military because of the cover and the coat. But once I got into it I slipped very familiarly into the Firefly style language and memories of the show. Once I accepted that, this became really enjoyable of a read. It's fun, fast, funny, extremely well-written for the style it's going for. I get some Battlestar Galactica vibes and old Star Wars as well from it.
Really excited to see where it goes.
