  Nuttall is a fantastic author, with several successes here on RoyalRoad (The Cunning Man, and Stuck in Magic), and many more published on Amazon. His Schooled in Magic universe is broad, varied, and incredibly comprehensive; spanning well over 20 full-length novels, plus novellas and anthologies. I've never read any of Nuttall's science fiction before, but the first chapter leaves me with high hopes and I'll definitely be reading his other works. You do NOT need to read any of his previous works for the prologues and first chapter to make sense. I highly recommend.
  It's too early for an advanced review, but I'll be adding one once a few more chapters have been published.

  I've ready many many stories by Chris on Amazon.  Some I liked, many I didn't.  Eventually, the vast quantity of verbiage became too repetative to enjoy as he was unable to break free from his repeatative, successful formula.
  That said, I tried to give this story a go, but found it hard to get into as it started not at the beginning, but at book 2, and I do not wish to sign up for Kindle unlimited again to just get up to speed.
  In addition, Chris or his managers need to buy a clue.  Releasing 40 chapters in 10 days is.....  stupid to the Nth degree.   I am not surprised by the 44 followers after almost a month on RR, for one of the most successful authors on Amazon in the fantasy fiction genre.
  Ha...  Ha...
  So, to recap.
  Strike one.  Didn't release the first book.
  Strike two.  Released the second book in 10 days.  A respectible 444 pages, which ordinarily would be enough to get this book to at the minimum  Rising Stars list, which would have triggered even more followers.
  Strike 3.  Umm.  Sorry.  I ran out of steam.
  I'm embarrased for him.
