When giants, monsters, and fey dominate the land, mankind can only get ahead by using magic and trickery.

After dying on our world, Jack finds himself waking up in the body of the latest victim in a war between men and giants.

With only names and a dead man's lingering emotions to go by, Jack manages to take his place amongst the living, but if he wants to survive he'll need to much more than that.

When he finds out that he's in a kingdom eager to send him to the frontlines, the only options he has are to get magic or to get gone.

If only either of those were so simple...
