- AlexKnowlesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I did not know what to expect from this even with the warnings. We sometimes need to write what we need to write, but I was sucked in.
It does hit certain emotions, because at the end of the day, who likes trauma, and the way things make us feel.
I like the undertones of character, theres hints of humor, past lives, depth to the whole world. Luna's relationship with Gabe, (who I wanted her to hit) her father, the drugs, making sure everything with him was okay. It wasn't obviously, but its written so well and I am invested.
Spelling and grammar, I can't know, I hire editors for my own, but I didn't spot anything.
I'd reccomend, if you want something a litlte darker, exciting, and tugs at buried emotions. - BobCharlieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm a total anime addict, and the way this story reads is so similar that I immediately felt drawn in.
The world building is excellent. Each scene is vivid and satisfying. The pacing is on point. All that said, the MC Luna is the real star of the show.
Between sketchy pyromancy, spontaneous teleportation, crooked cops and delinquent drug dealers, Luna can't seem to catch a break, but she takes it all on the chin and keeps on pushing forward. Shes smart and witty, and I found myself rooting for her right from the jump. Now, back to reading. I need to go find out whats going to happen next! (She has a remarkably strong punch! Seems to run pretty fast too lmao.) - ChrisorowRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0OK so I did like it I thought it was well done now I haven't read all of it but the pacing is good the dialogue is as good but maybe that's just because I don't like first person the emotional scenes actually feel emotional and the psychological element is well done and the grammar for the most part is well done I enjoyed reading it honestly and I'll probably finish when I don't have other things to do nice job keep on going
I need to have over 200 hundred words in a advanced review so I'm just going to type here for a second hmm so the book I like th cover felt like it was well done still not enough words ok then hmm well I dunno (rasberry) typing is hard I want to put out this review but I don't have much else to say I just feel like this place will get more traffic if give it real reviews know what I mean and I feel like it's good enough to deserve that wait I think that's enough words anyway bye
Nope still not enough well then I'm just going to type some more how do you feel about that - bbrox96Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I think the author did a great job at making this story engaging and exciting. This is by far the best anime-like novel I've read. I've read others that were way too cliché with their wording, trying to sound like a manga instead of a novel, but this one is a good happy medium. I'm really picky about my writing style, but this author hit the mark just fine!
- mrfangsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Spectral was a fantastic read through and through. It is hard to pick a place to start, but I think my favorite component of this story is the characters. Everybody feels fleshed out - from the MC to other humans (antagonistic or otherwise) to the various spectral entities you understand their actions and what drives them which fits very well with a story that puts such weight on those connections. I still find myself thinking about some of the various characters because they are simply so interesting and well done (Hiro, and Detective Chu, and Vero in particular stand out personally and without spoilers I hope very much to see more of them where we can).
The main character feels deeply relatable, she shows growth through the story that feels well earned and I felt did a good job of not trivializing her previous experience. She has a personality that feels fiery while at the same time strained by working hard to pull herself up.
The combat sequences are well written and exciting, I had a great time reading them and when combined with the excellent character beats above (the nature of that spectral combat ties the two together heavily) it makes for some very powerful moments throughout the story. - I_DunnoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It has nice worldbuilding, nice characters, and is overall a great story.
Fortunately, the romance isn't too rushed and our MC isn't a pushover.
I would recommend this story for anyone looking for an action-packed, not really a slice-of-life OP MC with a lot of drama.
Thanks for the book! I await the sequel. - JD GLASSCOCKRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0that is a a powerful dark emotive ride right out of the gate...mystery...a spin of self recrimination and insanity puppeting itself into the possibility of some other entity behidn the accost.....great bridge to anything rolling out of its shadow....wish you nothing but beautiful thoughts to the endeavor and great success to the road

Author of the Series Blood Brothers and The Dream - RMMulderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The writing style is very well written. The narrative is fast-paced, and sucks you into the story. I really liked how the opening chapter set the tone and immediately caused you to engage and feel for the Main Character. I am impressed by how polished this story is, hardly any grammatical errors. I will be watching this one!
- Raj Ch, AuthorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you want a short review then think of this as a twelve episode anime. In fact this written in episodic format so if you are upto it then you'll have a treat. Going into it, I was skeptical, I did not want to write scathing reviews and I tend to be honest about these things. To my pleasure this was a breezy read.
The writing style is something that makes it very easy to read. It reminded me a bit of brandon sanderson's skyward. It flows and flows without any unnecessary flower bs (That stings because I write that way) and gives you what you want. I like that in stories when you aren't in for patient reading but a fun and entertaining one.
I didn't spot any grammar errors. Perhaps an editor is better at this than I ever could be.
The story is fantastic. Action packed with fine dosage of everything. It is dark and at same time knows to be lighthearted. Has humor that is a bit hit or miss for me. The world is well realised with good amount of detail.
The protagonist is nice enough and her interractions with her problamatic father and gabe are interesting.
I will follow this and complete it soon and my opinion might change in time. - yumemiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I went into this story, not really knowing what to expect. I played Persona 5 and watched Blue Exorcist, so I thought it might be something to do with the supernatural or something, with the protagonist being some 'chosen hero' or something along those lines.
I was pulled into the story within the first few lines. I'll be frank: I generally hate first person POVs stories. But something about this story made me overlook that part and just delve into the plot itself.
I started writing this the moment I got into Episode 2, so all I know at the moment is the setup for Luna's life.
You can feel Luna's anger at the world, even her emotions when the jerk of a detective delivered her devastating news.
Story wise, I'll say this is one of the better ones that I've read of late, and I look forward to seeing Luna's development. So I'll definitely be following this story.
Now as to grammar: I'm not the best person out there to judge on one's grammar skills, considering I had a tendecy to mix up my tenses still. But I found the story easy to read, and which doesn't have me rushing off to Google the word or looking up a dictionary - something I find lots of new writers tend to do for some reason.
An excellent read, and something I'll definitely be following.
