Description

This story is stubbed and moved to amazon here:https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0CWLJ6VZ1(Kindle Unlimited, Paperback, eBook)

Being a space dragon has its challenges.

Especially when you can’t fly. The storms of ether wind can rip you right off the asteroid you call home, hurling you into space to never be seen again.

Firen tries to make the most of it, raising his daughter, Tarly, as best he can. But opportunities are scarce when you’re a lowly ice miner on the outer belt. His future is pitifully bleak: grinding out his centuries in a nameless town on a dark rock, hoping his home survives the next meteor strike.

Until one fateful day, strange refugees from a distant system plunge their lives into chaos. A threat to the entire asteroid belt is approaching, and they have a critical part to play. But even if they succeed, will it be enough?

A fun fantasy adventurefor all ages with themes of warm romance, grimdark horror, and litrpg elements. There are dragons, mechs, magic, and a formidable villain. The writing is fast-paced with nominal fluff, accelerating in later chapters. A fantasy-leaning romantasy.

If you're looking for something a little different than the typical apocalyptic/isekai/litrpg fare on RR, try this. I was curious why there aren't more fantasy books about dragons in space. I believe this is something that needs to exist. So I wrote this.

What to expect:

* 45 chapters (for book 1), professionally edited.

* Chapters published daily, sometimes on weekends too.

* Creamy litrpg elements that have few stats and are non-intrusive to the story.

* Some grimdark chapters. Some warm romance (not harem or explicit).

* Occasional POV changes.

* This is a novel, not a webserial. The end of the story has closure yet leaves room for another book. No advance chapters on Patreon.

* There are no humans in this story.

So far interesting story with nonhuman lead. Space dragon single dad barely survives on a wage of a common miner. That is untill his world turns upside down with the arrival of life ending threat from the deep universe.
Characters seem consistent, main character has clear priorities in keeping his daughter safe at all cost. Looking forward how it goes.

The story starts in a wholesome manner, The MC (Dragon) lost his wife and loves his daughter dearly. He gets his power/lucky encounter which helps him escape a catastrophe and his back breaking space mining life. It is insinuated that they will be fighting the big enemy which are spore that turn infected into zombies. So far the entire society is just Dragons, And 2 other sapient entities. It’s really intriguing how Dragons use various kinds of Technology such as Warships, Mechas and something as mundane as street lights. Loving the concept so far looking forward for more.

I did like reading this story, as I didn't think that a space zombie apocalypse with dragons is something that could exist. There are of course a few little grammatical issues and typos here and there, but that's understandable. Main thing that makes this story not as good as it could be is because the pacing feels too fast, when it could be a bit more drawn out, and some parts of the plot are a bit convoluted, or simply strange. (Case in point, the whole pillow room thing, and the Adjudicator existing solely for that one scene to get his ass kicked.) But I do like this story besides that.

Its a fun concept but ultimately kind of stereotypical. Kind of reminds me of some of the better wings of fire books.
The main character starts out as a nobody, who then just happens to find one of the most important being around, who just happens to be a perfect bond for that being.
With that said, it still ended up being a fun read.
