Working on becoming active again. I'm myself again, the pain becomes a part of you and you're able to move on. Also someone tell my PC to stop being a di*k and stay working for a while. Am in chapter 32 atm fixing a plot hole I spotted, once that's fixed i'll be able to continue with re-reading the book to familiarize with everything again. I'll stay inactive until I have a huge backlog just in case some world ending shite comes along. (again) @-@

I am not complaining. Saying that: I. Do. Not. Quit.

Thanks for staying as a follower all this time. <3

Merryn, an Elvin, is a determined spirit adapt struggling to complete her mission to bring the Omega Tome back home, when the god trapped inside is freed causing a city's destruction. She races forward into the ancient world of Galama pursued by the kingdoms last guard seeking vengeance. The people she meets, become tangled into the guard's desire for revenge forcing her to choose between saving them or her own people back home. She must uncover the truth behind the god's secret, how it affects the world, come to terms with who she is and find her place in this world.

A nice traditional fantasy with heroes and heroines on a journey to save the world, cute animals, monsters to kill. Just like every other fantasy bookever.

I joke.

This is actually an epic fantasy thatdoesn't waste your timegetting to the story.

There's no tag yet for Nobledark so have checked Grimdark.

After this is completed (last chapter) it'll be undergoing a revision or two starting with chapter one. The ending of that chapter isn't strong enough to carry though the whole book so it'll changing again and the rest of plot with it.

I'll need beta readers and sensitivity readers soon. Wonder if there's any on this site?

Possible Triggers in this book are:

Dark themes/world (It is a dark fantasy after all. *cough*)

Descriptions bordering on gore (What I'd consider mild descriptions of injuries. But sometimes I can get a bit enthusiastic, so wait a day or two and I'll probably edit it a bit. That's why I don't use the tag.) Telling the story is the thing not trying to make anyone vomit. 😛

Mental and verbal abuse

Violence

Mild horror

Heart stopping action? (I can fantasize I'm getting that right, ha. 😅)

This is a multi pov book. There's three atm. Am working hard to limit this so that readers can stay snuggly in one pov for as long as possible. I'll only switch when it's needed, you won't find any pov switches in the same chapter here. I personally hate that, it's confusing and or annoying.

You'll know right away who's pov it is in the first paragraph or sentence. Even though doing so creates some distance, I feel on here it's necessary as people have to wait a while between chapters.

I'll turn on the suggestions helper when the book is done. It's been fully revised four times now. With many chapters completely rewritten and new ones added.

Going into 'editing mode' is jarring for me and it's hard to get back into creating mode, that's why it's off.

What makes us truly strong? Is it in the physical? How about the mental? Perhaps in faith? What gives a person moxy? Just using physical strength isn't enough to make a female protagonist strong, just like everyone else she too is a mix of all things, drawing from many wells. Feminity isn't a weakness it's astrength, celebrate this!

And men deserve more then how they're treated in most books off this site. Our books matter they do influence the generations that read them.

(Most if you all do a great job of not allowing sexism to taint your works. ♥️)

Most dark fantasy lately doesn't have any actual heroes or genuinely good people everyonetendsto be 'gray' what about people who want to make a better life for themselves and others, and take a stand for what's right?  There's many other ways to make a world dark.

Come read, let me give it a try at somethingdifferent.

Thank you for reading!

Has no dragons, demons, orks, halflings, or dwarfs. Unless they're mentioned as dead in passing. Haha-hah. I'm not giving up elves though. Just remaking their personalities. Cold aloof, snotty? Na lets try some passion, a hot temper barley head under control and other fun stuff.

The main thing that I enjoy about this story is that it takes off right from the start. You aren't going to be slogging through the story waiting for something to happen, you are going to get thrown into a rather creepy and atmospheric setting immediately. In addition, the setting itself has a lot of potential.
The grammar and sentence structure can be a bit hard to follow at times, but the story is undergoing some restructuring, so I imagine many of the issues will be improved upon. The main issue I ran into is something the author clearly states that they are working on as well, which is the way that inner thoughts are handled.
Either way, I believe this story is worth your time in its current state and will likely be even better when the revisions are complete.

Soul Tear's first four chapters are filled with intense descriptions of the fantasy surroundings. You will have an explanatory image of cities, villages, streets and insides. I could see myself taking a few paragraphs and following each sentence to draw, with my stylus, precisely what it is described, even shadows. But don't be misled. Each portrayal is not set randomly in the narrative. At each chapter, you will be recalled on "what changed" (and a no spoiler tag here) - some are eye-catching, others not so much.
The visual and action description are one of the most vital points of this web novel.
We meet the main character in line one, Merryn, an Elvin thief who stole a sacred tomb and had a minor accident with it.
Even though we are following her very closely, she is presented to the reader more personally in chapter four. She has a more unique interaction with her minor incident. And this chapter is also where she crosses paths with our Alchemist.
The ambience, although unique, charms us into a familiar fantasy world. On my end, I felt it to be dark and dusty, there is some nice new nuance that the author is gradually introducing, but to know more, I guess you'll need to read it.
