The style is very good, with perfect English and a lot of vivid descriptions of settings, thoughts, and emotions. (There may actually be too many "show, don't tell" asides.) I've bought many paperbacks with worse style than this, to be sure.
The setting and overall idea seems fairly novel and interesting. It reminds me most of Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom for Sale from the 80s, but it's also been influenced by modern YA novels. It's different from most stories on RR, reminding me more of old fantasy paperbacks in terms of themes and tropes. Several aspects of the world-building are unique and intriguing, especially the magic.
Unfortunately, a lot of things struck me as ridiculous stuff that would be in an anime for preteens. The characters and dialogue are often unbelievable. The characters largely lack real goals/values that they consistently work toward, and they often feel more like narrators and chess pieces than characters. There are way too many exposition dumps, and too much lingo. A lot of the plot beats are very cliché for a fantasy adventure novel.
The story is good enough that I've become somewhat invested in the characters and setting, and I like the style, so I'm rating this a 4 even though reading this often has me rolling my eyes and feeling like I'm reading something from an old pulp magazine.
