Description

A kingdom on the brink of collapse. The foundations of society, embodied in the knightly orders and the rule of law, are crumbling, leaving the realm vulnerable to multiple threats.

Only a knight can summon Shining Armor.

Only a knight can save the realm from destruction.

Seventy years ago, the Dragon Order vanished, leaving the continent with only twelve knightly orders. Our story begins when a soloknight mysteriously emerges on a quest to Dunaguard to meet Duke Akitomo.

The soloknight, accompanied by the spirited Kichi, who wants to be the most chivalrous knight, the tavern girl Ema, and the noble knight Masahide, sets off on a perilous journey to the Duke's castle. Their path is fraught with danger, deception, and dazzling duels as they find themselves thrust into a high-stakes tournament.

For a knight to lose his order is a disgrace, so the soloknight asks the Duke to have the resident sorcerer drain him of his powers. However, first, there's a tale to be told. Amidst the clashing of swords and the crowd's roar, our heroes must rise up to meet the challenge.

What to expect (no spoilers):

This is a multi-POV adventure. It starts out following one and expands to include four, including an antihero.

It’s a high fantasy with stats at the end of each chapter. Although it may feel classic at first, it’s inspired by modern takes and anime.

I have been reading this story since it first came out and it is amazing! The Upload schedule is consistent and the chapters aren’t too long. The writing style is beautiful and there aren’t any mistakes grammar wise. The characters are all three dimensional and the overall plot so far is awesome. Easily one of my favorite stories!

I've just been introduced to this writer's work, and am enjoying it immensely thus far. A number of the familiar fantasy tropes here are used, but with enough 'twists' to keep the read a refreshing one [wishing on a squirrel? Why not?] instead of a re-tread through worlds we've seen before. Just finished the first chapter, and looking forward to the rest!

Style: The story's style is very good. The author's unique way of writing gets the feel of the story across very well. Additionally, the word choice sets the tone very well. I can also safely say that the author sets the tone with the imagery literary device very well.
Story: The story is very good. It is paced at exactly the rate it needs to be and it develops at the rate it has to too. The story itself is about a group of knight errants who are traveling the land and dealing with various evils, whether bandits or corrupt nobles. The story does a great job of conveying this, the world they're in, and the struggles they face. It manages to keep things interesting through these, and there are a number of very good twists.
Grammar: Any grammatical errors that exist are either already corrected or too minor for me to notice.
Character: The characters are great. Pretty much all of them are well-depicted, realistic, and have a degree of depth to them. Not all of the characters are three-dimensional, but almost all of them are. They are quite interesting as well. The main character is someone who's trying to become a great knight, and she finds another important character to train her. He is a very chivalrous man who was clearly beaten down by time to an extent. The other characters are very good too.
Overall, I would highly recommend this story.

This is an excellent story!  I love the world building and the descriptions!  Familiar, yet not!  Interesting characters, monsters and spirits.  Huge spirit sword! Tiny (well, comparatively) spirit sword! Normal sized spirit sword.  Demon sword! Did I mention the squirrel cat?  Bar maid! Wights, possessed people, giants and giant trees!  Squirrel cat!  Even better, an attack squirrel cat! Have I made my point?  Read this!

This brought me back to reading fantasy stories in the library when I was a kid and would grab something with a cool-sounding title or catchy cover art. No joke, I felt like a kid again discovering a new fantasy world and just getting lost in it. I haven't felt that in a long, long time.
    Alright, into the specifics:
Style: Very traditional fantasy novel-esque. The stat elements are kept to the end of each chapter, which does make the reading easier as you get a little review of the stats at the end of each section. I mentioned it bringing me back to my childhood - that's because it reads like Sword of Shannara or The Magic of Xanth. It's got that timeless fantasy quality.
Story: It's solid. Nothing super remarkable, but solid. There are some neat elements regarding the characters, their powers, and their motivations.
Grammar: Pretty much flawless. Can't go wrong here. Excellent job. This has been thoroughly proofread and edited.
Character: This was the weakest part for me. The main character is well developed and engaging, but the other characters just feel...there? They don't have as much depth to them as the MC. This isn't a problem, but from the blurb we are led to believe that the 4 characters will have their share of time in the spotlight. They don't. This is really a story about Kichi, and the people she picks up along the way. Kichi is very well written. The rest are not at the same level. Yes, there are other character perspective chapters. But to me, Kichi is the focus. She is the one with the most potential as an MC, and the one I resonated with.
Overall I highly enjoyed this, and thank the author for giving me a throwback to my childhood days of perusing the stacks in the library and getting lost in fantasy.

Overall:Soloknight delivers an exhilarating tale within a dynamic fantasy realm, threaded with subtle litRPG mechanics that enrich its captivating power dynamics. While the world and its events may feel familiar, the narrative introduces unique elements that ensure a consistently gripping experience.
Story:Soloknight intricately interlaces the journeys of diverse characters, each driven by their own ambitions and desires, thereby propelling the overarching narrative forward. Rather than a plot dictating character actions, it is the characters themselves who intricately shape the narrative landscape.
The titular Soloknight, Whitebeard, embarks on a quest to divest himself of his powers, seeking redemption for his order's downfall. Accompanying him are Kichi, aspiring to emulate her father's valor, and Ema, initially unassuming but possessing a determined spirit. Alongside them strides Masahide, another knight whose presence adds depth to their adventures. Together, they confront corrupt nobles harboring sinister agendas for the realm.
While the surface narrative may appear straightforward, subtle hints suggest a tapestry of complexity lurking beneath. Whitebeard's concealed machinations, Kichi's enigmatic lineage, and the machinations of various elements continually inject layers of intrigue into the plot.
Style:Told from a third-person perspective, Soloknight effortlessly navigates between different viewpoints, offering concise chapters that maintain an optimal pace. Each narrative thread, whether exploring pivotal plot developments, intense skirmishes, or character introspection, is carefully balanced, never overstaying its welcome. This rhythmic narrative flow evokes echoes of the light novel genre, enhancing the immersive quality of the storytelling.
The prose is fluid and purposeful, eschewing unnecessary details while judiciously slowing down during climactic moments to afford them the attention they merit.
Grammar:Minor issues here and there can be found among

I was expecting a lot fewer interesting characters for a book called "soloknight."  Well, turns out that means something more like "ronin" or just "wandering knight."  I wouldn't call it a twist, but it was a nice little surprise.
Style-wise, there are a few things I don't love about it.  A few prose and word choice issues.  There were a few minor grammar errors, but nothing huge.  I've seen worse in published books.
The story grabbed me more than I expected.  It's more of a "wander the world and repair the corrupt kingdom" story than I thought it would be.  Still, the magic system is simple but with room for depth, which is always a good place to start.  The basics aren't hard to understand, and are explained in just a few lines.  That's also good.  I'm looking forward to more on what the swords can do, and what makes Shining Armor so good.  Speaking of which, points for the pun there.
The characters are good, too.  As I said, I was expecting this to be a solo affair.  Instead, it's mostly from the point of view of a squire as she travels with her overpowered knight, and it seems like they're picking up new companions as they go.  The new knight and his girlfriend are already fun.  The villains look interesting.  Even the first, who has all the makings of a generic nameless mob, has a decent backstory.
    This is one to watch.
