Description
Jake is a war veteran waiting to die. He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He is given a second chance at life as he is pulled into a world of danger, tyranny, and magic... and he has come armed.
This is a sci-fi fantasy novel with LitRPG elements. We explore the Nation of Lerra where magic is controlled with the iron fist of the rich and powerful. The protagonist is ripped from his world to find he has access to this Magic system through an interface only he can see. He doesn't have to rely solely on magic though as he has guns. Will firepower stand up to fire powers?

- Anon AnonymousRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am intrigued. This is an interesting take on LitRPG. Very unique. My only complaint is I want to see more. I like the humor contrasting with the dark content.
Seems like there's alot going on here too. I like the premise of litRPG without the same old stuck in a simulation trope. - ParogarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As someone who personally has never been in the military but loves to myself write battle scenes, I, like many authors, use the wrong terminology, terms, descriptions, and circumstances.
This story is genuinely refreshing in that the author is writing from genuine experience. Anyone who is a fan of military themes (especially writers who like to employ them) would benefit from reading this just on the basis alone.
The premise itself is quite good. Jake is a soldier suffering from a tumor, and without posting too many spoilers, the early chapters allude to two different worlds/time periods. One in which Jake is dying and preparing for his imminent end, and one of fantasy in a world completely at odds with the (relatively) modern-day one of 2030.
It's a very interesting take: the idea of juxtaposing the experience of a modern-day soldier trained in conventional warfare with an system-rich RPG and the way that a soldier from our era could bring their experiences into this sort of world.
I would recommend that the author use **** breaks instead of having 5 or 6 chapters per part. But other than that, what I've read so far is very well written aside from some minor comma usage errors, particularly when it concerns direct addressing, such as using a comma before someone's name when they are being directly addressed.
