At the stroke of midnight Joe, an uncommon man simply waiting out a Celestial Event in his apartment, finds himself forced into a system at the whims of an unknown entity and transformed against his will and swears an oath of vengeance against the very system that has altered him.

When next he awakens he finds himself chronologically displaced and devoid of many of the modern trappings most of civilization depends on. With monsters, both human and animal, roaming his former home survival is no guarantee for even the most prepared of individuals.

The system whispers, calling for the survivors to forgo their civility and humanity, to embrace chaotic change and Darwinian competition where only the strong survive. Will Joe carry forth the light humanity has spent millennia forging or will he cast it aside in the name of simple survival?

Is there but one way to evolve and is it the strong who achieve supremacy?

It is a good side story to main series, enough so that main character became canon as cameo. Farmboy snake unlike bat boy is more "danger-> move,think-> plan while move(he thinks,no overthink)" Eather he got hardened in life,as in survived school shooting, barn fire, and was not broken instead learned. This makes for person who is VERY belivable to exist

Style Overall: The writing itself is pretty good. Let's just say the author is very good at descriptive language. Mainly my only problem would be at times its ok to leave some room for imagination for the reader. For example, in the fight scenes it might be better to make them more fast-paced and change the rhythm rather than keeping everything the same pace. Otherwise, its clear a lot of thought has been put into the scenes.
Story Overall: One thing that can't be taken away is that the story is unique. A system-world still based on earth after a post-apocalyptic event is already an interesting setting. The reason I haven't given five stars for this region is because I haven't gone further into the story and read more about what the system and the lore of the world has to offer. Which I'm sure the author will eventually unravel.
Grammar Score: It's as good as the authors descriptive language. Barring very minor mistakes its barely noticeable. Well done!
Character Score: I think this is were personal preference comes into play. I find the mc a bit too overly serious and always seems over-prepared. At time Joe can seem to be too fixated on planning, which leads to certain things being over-described. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but it just means the story itself would need to be taken more seriously by the reader.
Overall: Its a good story. The picture is painted for you for those who like good prose, but at times it can be too slow for me. Which might be what another person is looking for. A decent late night read overall.
